Chatuchak Market is Bangkok’s most popular outdoor market that you should consider visiting when in Thailand. One reason is that most of the good finds- mostly on a cheap price are found here.
The market is very easy to reach via MRT or the Sky Train. The best time to visit the place is during Saturdays and Sundays as almost all of the stalls are opened.
I went for just a short visit at the Chatuchak with three of my colleagues and the plan was to spend a few hours strolling around the market but ended up spent not only hours of walking, bargaining and sight seeing but also a hundreds of baht shopping for gifts to take back home. I probably have spent around $50 in just two hours and we haven’t reached at the middle of the market.
The center of the Chatuchak Market
This is just a tip if you are going to the Chatuchak with a couple of friends of family. Before entering the market, just make a certain place where you would want to meet up in case one of you gets lost. This is a must as the market is really crowded and really huge. There are certain spots dedicated to tourist that are marked “Meeting Point” so you can choose it as the place to meet-up and gather. I’ll tell you, it’s impossible not to get lost when you are in Chatuchak.
There are a bunch of clothings that are sold here on a very cheap price, there are also tattoo services here, food carts, street food, other services such as Thai massage and lots of souvenirs!
