Best Golden Lace Nominations for TEAS

GoldenLace, I thought, was an interesting aspect added to the Rumbelle story on ONCE and wished it had progressed more. However, we have wonderful fanfic to remedy that. Here are some recommendations for GoldenLace for the TEAs

Damaged Goods by Screwball Ninja. This series starts from ‘Lacey’ and goes to end of 'Second Star to the Right’. I love the dialogue between Lacey and Gold. Very witty, very clever. In her Lacey you can see streaks of Belle in her especially her insight into Gold’s thought processes. Fave paragraph:“I’m not. You can’t frighten me. You think I’m dumb, but I see right through you.” She glares at him. “We could have been something, if you weren’t too scared to— to try. Well, good luck with your things, Mr. Gold— you coward.”Gold stares at her and whispers in horror: “Seven hells.” He falls to his knees in front of her. “I’m sorry,” he says desperately. “I’m sorry, Lacey. I’m so sorry. Stay. Please, just … stay this time.” Love how Gold doesn’t want to repeat his mistake from Skin Deep. Beautiful

Silk Scarves by Aerilon452. Lacey and Gold indulge in each other. This is very NC-17 and says alot about how much Lacey likes being in control. It’s interesting to see Gold having to give up some control to win over Lacey.

The Blue Star by FieryPen37. The Blue Star is a brothel, Lacey a prostitute and Gold her favorite customer. This story has a great twist on what if Belle was not in the asylum during Season 1 theme. Blue Fairy is shady, Gold is torn between what is proper and his desires and Lacey shows all the qualities of Belle times ten. I just love the premise.And the smut is hot and the author does an good job of having Gold pre-Emma arrival having sex w/Lacey and post arrival sex with Lacey, the differences are subtle but spot on.

Chase the Sun by Chauchi. From 'Tiny’ to Season 3, this story covers Rumbelle with a huge chunk devoted to Lacey and Gold. Her take on 'And Straight on Til Morning’ is how I would have loved the episode to shake out. The author does an incredible job of writing about Gold’s thoughts throughout all of this and shows Lacey to be both party girl with Belle seeping through. Fave part:She made to reach out for the glass then changed her mind,curling her fingers into a fist at her side."I’m not a hero.” And his heart shattered into a thousand pieces.You are a hero. You just don’t remember.
