Step by step, feet skipping as the world focuses on them. Broken bends as if Cheated dips him, their souls singing in chorus, higher and higher. He brings him up as his partner lifts him in turn and there is applause as the stage rumbles in rising anticipation.

Context: in my post-construct world, Cheated and Broken were the two voices who could not fly upon gaining their own bodies, and they got to bond about that. And in Broken's case, it was because his wings were chained, and he was unwilling to try to unbind them:

I had this idea in mind that maybe over time, Broken will be more open to the idea of trying to unbind himself from these chains! And when he finally does, Paranoid (the resident medic) concludes that with proper exercise and training, eventually, Broken should be able to fly like the rest of the flock. And so as Broken heals, Cheated is slowly becoming the only bird in the flock who cannot fly... and while Broken can't just magically fix Cheated's wings, he can, at least, take him for a flight or two <3
