Sketches - Paige [Sole Survivor], Nathan

After the last piece I needed to do some smaller sketches to get some of the junk outta my system. Whenever I finish something big it feels like I need to just... spew out a bunch of little stuff until my wrists re-acclimate to creating shapes rather than refining them. There’s probably five or six images that got deleted before these two finally came out looking mildly decent, and it’s all gearing up for the next project so yaaaaay

For those who have read the story I’m writing so far, they’ve met Nathan and are aware who he is, and have heard at least a little bit about how he and Paige ran into each other. Long story short, he was part of a family run trading operation that frequented Diamond City when he was a kid [at which time he and John were friends who got into all sorts of trouble, as ya do], something happened to said trading operation, and Paige caught the poor sod when he was making a Psychobuff fueled suicide run on a raider encampment that she was casing out on behalf of Somerville Place.

In preparation for the larger comic project I’m planning, covering the events of the story I’m writing because I think they’ll translate well and put me through some new and interesting things as an artist, I’m currently scripting up a shorter comic that covers how Paige and Nathan met, and his settling at Somerville as a permanent resident/local leader to the settlers, and MAN OH MAN am I not used to drawing big dudes. Nathan is a brick shithouse and it took me a few tries to make him look like a large person rather than a regular/tall-ish dude with a big head.

Really wanna sketch up the moment where Nathan realizes the ghoul traveling with Paige is his old friend, if only for the height comparison... and after drawing him so fucking exhausted and sad I need to put a smile on the poor sod’s face or Imma cry.
