Well. We did it. Nephew and I spent a total of 4 days on the train traveling to various places and I LOVED IT! Thanks for the advice and general hype! It kept me excited when I was getting nervous.

Would love to hear more about where you ended up going/how it went for you overall—I've done a decent amount of the long routes at this part (barring...the texas routes lol), but there are a few I'm woefully uneducated on, and I'm always excited to hear how other folks experience the train haha.

OKAY OKAY UM. Those who know me will know that I am obsessed with the britpop lore behind Charlie and Liam’s character and how Drive Shaft was based on Oasis. For a little context the two britpop… “giants” shall we say were Blur and Oasis, and they had an INSANE rivalry. Like actually off it’s rocker rivalry. Something I must confess is that, despite knowing that Drive Shaft is heavily influenced by Oasis and the Gallagher brothers’ relationship, I headcanon Charlie to be a Blur fan SVAJVSJDBD. Something something Beetlebum something something. I don’t know man he just gives me immense Blur fan vibes. I may or may not be projecting

🫠 = What ship/ships make(s) you melt?

SAYIDMOND AND KATIET. SAYIDMOND AND KATIET FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER AS LONG AS I LIVE. I don’t know why I fixated on Sayidmond but the idea just. Popped into my head after rewatching The Constant. Maybe because they’re my two favourites. Also something about how careful Sayid is with Desmond whilst he’s in his time-skip induced craze just makes my heart MELTTT ITS SO. OUHHHH. @/agardenintheshire made a PERFECT edit of them as my Lost Secret Santa gift and it is just SO GOOD. Please watch it its so amazing

🎷 = What are your favourite uses of music in the show?

Okay my immediate answer is the score for the 1st season. Absolutely phenomenal. Giacchino has been one of my favourite composers for the longest time and finding out he did the score for this just fit SO WELL. I was incredibly tempted to buy the soundtrack on vinyl until I remembered I don’t actually have a record player. Also I’m pretty sure everyone already knows this but DID YOU GUYS KNOW THAT FOR SOME OF THE PERCUSSION IN THE SCORE, THOSE METALLIC CLANG NOISES ARE ACTUALLY THE SOUNDS OF THE ACTUAL OCEANIC WRECKAGE THAT WERE SENT INTO THE STUDIO. THEY USED BITS OF THE ACTUAL PLANE TO MAKE THE SOUNDTRACK. HOW COOL IS THAT.

⛓️‍💥 = What’s your most unhinged ship idea?

Sayidmond is already pretty niche as it is with limited content but I’m not sure if it counts as unhinged. Thanks to various urls I’ve become familiar with on Tumblr Ben/Jack has been an idea I’ve been twirling around in my head?? Especially their off-island interactions. I don’t have much on them YET but I do want to try and dig deeper because the prospect is… interesting to say the least
