Whenever I'm serving customers that are children, or that are very nice, I will go out of my way to find them the SHINIEST coins for their change.
When I'm serving customers that are rude, I will go out of my way to give them the dirtiest, muckiest, most beat up looking coins.
Shiny change needs to be earnt.

Every day at work I’m always surprised when someone uses the name on my name tag cause um, I thought I was a nameless robot scanning groceries until my wires break...so you mean I’m a real human person with a name? Holy shit.
Re the cost of living. You can't really tell people to not buy some much food, or plan what they're going to eat for the week. Customers more often than not tell me when i ask them if they got everything they needed that they got more.

I am a Good Little Grocery Packer™. The couple I served at about midday yesterday said so. It’s official. None of y’all can complain.
Repeat after me:
As the customer, the order I put my groceries on the conveyor is the order they are put in the bags. Even if the frozens are with the washing powder. And I will not complain or glare at the checkout operator about this.
