yo, #checkoutmymixtape! . decided a few weeks ago to get back into bedroom djing / making mixes, and began by reworking a couple of old house sets of mine as a means of learning all the new techs -- -niques and -nologies, that is -- that have come about since the purely analog turntable days. so here they are; the plan is to include new recordings every once in a while (maybe, we'll see...😎): . https://soundcloud.com/lian-chang . SIDE A: The Peanut Butter Dumpling Mix. named after the dinner party trick mom and i used to play, which was to sneak a peanut butter-filled ringer among the stewed pork dumplings for one "lucky" dinner guest to chance upon... anyway, this set is early evening stuff, with a latin-y ambience that hangs in the deep (house) end of the pool. plus jazz flutes! aww yeah. . SIDE B: Cape Horn a darker, faster, clubbier, more "big room" set for the witching hour (which happens to be the time of night in which these were produced). hey olds -- your Twilo days may be over but perhaps these tunes can give your morning stationary bike session some added pep. . enjoy! xo 🙏 (at Lower East Side)
