Geraldine’s renovated London Victorian home is bursting with pastel color. This is the perkiest Victorian I’ve ever seen. She loves the period features in the home and kept them, but painted them white.
Geraldine sought to preserve her home, but also update it with color and modernity while keeping its original style.
Andrea’s lovely home in Florida is an example of vibrant colorful decor against white walls.
Very unusual fabric was used to reupholster the living room seating. I once had a skirt with a similar pattern as the couch.
Color is always easy to add to a built-in wall unit. Andrea says that she’s not a serious person and neither is her home.
Stained glass inserts give the kitchen island doors a more colorful look.
Andrea calls her living space “optimistic,” and in the dining room 2 turquoise chairs sit on a bright yellow carpet. A floral bunny ceramic is the centerpiece.
Her dining room gallery wall is full of various lighthearted photos and art.
A pegboard serves as craft storage in the bedroom.
The colorful main bedroom has a little ethnic flair.
The 2nd hand dresser was painted an antiqued ivory and the lower half of the walls are soft gold.
Her daughter’s room is a riot of color with the lower walls painted blue.
Even her toys are brightly colored.
Her bathroom is painted peachy pink and the shower curtain is a colorful nature print. She likes floral fabrics and want people to feel comfortable in her home.

This house may be in Sweden, but it’s decorated soooo cute in a tropical theme, using plants and lighting, creatively.
The long, homemade dining room table has mismatched chairs and a simple string of bulbs wrapped around a branch. Doesn’t it look nice?
They’ve placed the hutch in front of a curtain of bamboo and draped a string of fairy lights over it.
A little orange tree, and tropical fruits on display.
Cherry tomatoes, herbs, and garden veggies grow in the kitchen.
Plants, flowers, and fresh produce are everywhere.
The living room feature wall is covered in a bamboo screen draped with fairy lights. A wicker fixture hangs over the coffee table.
Across the hall is a dressing room with a beautiful stained glass window and a roll-up bamboo shade. Check out the straw hat light fixture.
More bamboo roll up shades and tropical plants in the bath.
Upstairs is a cozy family room with thrift store furniture and plants hanging from the ceiling beam.
The pretty master bedroom has an old door as a headboard, ivy, and a string of round bulbs. So lovely.
Across the hall is a daughter’s bright BoHo style room.
On the way to back yard is a small table & chairs in a tropical theme setting.
In the yard is a tub for a summer soak. I love this cheerful house.

In case any color lovers missed it last year, here’s the Xmas re-post of Charlotte & Philippe’s vintage home (they are the owners of the colorful housewares & accessories Rice Company). Their Danish home is so detailed, it’s sometimes mistaken for a church.
Charlotte encourages decorating your entrance so it makes you happy, both when you leave and when you get home. Here, you are greeted by sunshiny a yellow front door.
Pastel-colored furniture provides a counterpoint to Grandma's old dark chandelier, which Charlotte is quite fond of.
Ladies' lounge, the living room here is called fun. The style is extra feminine with romantic stucco, bird wallpaper and upholstered velour furniture.
A fine bird wallpaper is broken up by the original stucco on the wall. The pedestal is old, the rest is from their company.
Charlotte places candles and mixed Christmas decorations on a handful of identical elongated plates on the table. It looks decorative and is easy to move around.
The huge table was built especially for the room. The festive gallery wall consists of a mix of paintings and cloth lanterns from their company hang above.
The kitchen and dining room were merged to accommodate socializing and the stools were bought from a lumber store. They were painted by Charlotte.
As Christmas approaches, the gifts are moved under a real tree - until then, they decorate a slender cedar tree.
These purple chairs w/matching ottoman’s Charlotte says can be dangerous (I guess if the ottoman slides you can wind up on the floor). The blue wall color was chosen b/c her grandmother wore a silk blouse in that color.
The middle living room is used for homework by both teens and adults. The chairs are a mix of new and old. The carpet is a field that is painted directly on the floor- Then it stays where it needs to be.
The chest is an heirloom from Philippe's aunt. Charlotte likes to keep the old furniture original- anything else would be disrespectful, she feels.
In the kitchen-dining room there is a corner with a pink sofa, pink dots on the wall & a fabulous throw pillow.
The colorful wreath is made from crocheted potholders.

Welcome to Diogo and Rapha’s beautiful, plant-filled Brazilian apt. They like to decorate w/cheerful colors, and things from their culture, carnivals, music and the churches of their home town.
They were allowed to paint the apt., and I like when men aren’t afraid of pink. It’s really a very soft, warm, color. Did you know that pink was originally for boys and blue for girls, but somewhere along the line it got switched.
They placed a table right outside the kitchen and decorated this long room beautifully.
They have a collection of record albums and you can see some of the colorful carnival mementos.
The older kitchen is filled with charm and religious artifacts.
The spare room is turned into a home office. Love the graphics painted on the wall.

Sunny dining area, like every day’s a holiday. The chest is painted the palest pink- so pretty.
The kitchen cabinets are a very light gray laminate that gives it some color, and works well with any color accent.
From the colorful landing, you can see into the wonderfully joyful bedrooms.
Man, I would’ve loved a bedroom like this, as a kid.

Another wonderful child’s room. I like this idea of putting different wallpapers in these cubbies. It’s like a piece of art.
Even the master bedroom is happy- I like the wallpaper on the little nightstand. What a sweet home.
