I tried reading Soul Eater NOT but I couldn't get into it. Since the anime is coming out, do you think I should try again? (I like getting other peoples' opinions as they help me decide on things and you seemed like a good person to get an opinion on!!)

I wrote my lukewarm recommendation for the NOT manga before: the short version is that it is a fun set of vignettes but lacking in an evident overarching plot that links the chapters together.
I think you should try again. Now that Ohkubo has concluded the original manga with an eye towards the anime adaptation, I hope that the chapters start moving the plot forward, especially regarding Shauna's evil plan of evilness, Tsugumi settling her meister situation, and seeing Kim and Jackie become full-fledged meister and weapon.
