I miss you so much it hurts sometimes.

I miss those one dollar pizza slices you used to get downstairs on the corner of 38th and 8th and how I’d make a face and you’d say “But they’re so good!”

I miss watching CheeseTV while eating breakfast before school and how if you woke up too early, you had to watch those ladies doing aerobics. On the weekends it’d be Rage then Video Hits. And maybe some that’s so Raven if you had nothing to do that day. . .

I miss that stupid hat you always wore and how you let me wear it once and then when you thought it had gone missing you mass messaged everyone including me even though we weren’t talking anymore.

I miss old Blink 182 (Yeah so?)

I miss the girls I spent my childhood summers with. You girls made me feel like I was in Now & Then, which is like the girl version of Stand by Me and a totally under-celebrated 90’s film, by the way.

I miss Winona Ryder making awesome movies. Heathers anyone? Reality Bites? Winona, I forgive you for Mr Deeds and I still have faith.

I miss that one time we re-enacted The Lion King all the way across the Harbour Bridge and thought it was the most hilarious thing ever. I thought you were a really good singer but I never got the chance to tell you.

I miss going to that cafe with you and the staff hating us because we’d sit there for hours only ever ordering coffees. But we’ll have that again soon so I can hardly wait!

I miss that Tenacious D song Tribute and how whenever it played everyone always knew and sang all the lyrics. They say that song isn’t the greatest song in the world, but the thing is, it kind of is.

I miss those trusty Nokia 3310s with the best version of Snake ever before it went all 3D and colour or whatever and when you could make all your ringtones in Composer. 

I miss that night we all went swimming in the beach. It plays in my mind like a Dawson’s Creek episode. I think that was the same night you got in trouble for bringing Shaka Fries into a restaurant.

I miss Razor scooters. Razor scooters > Penny boards. Can we please bring them back?
