Of late, there’s a growing interest in celebrities that can “cook”. Many cooking programmes such as “Please Take Care of my Refrigerator”, “Paik Jongwon’s Three Great Emperors” and “Youn’s Kitchen”, are gaining popularity among viewers. Most idols that choose to go on meokbang receive love for introducing and eating food. However, there are some idols that are loved not just for eating, but also for cooking.
Let’s find out more about Jin (BTS), Henry (Super Junior-M) and D.O. (EXO), who’re not only good looking but are also “sexy men that can cook”.
EXO D.O.
Since the beginning of his debut, EXO’s D.O. has received the nickname of “Chef Dyo”. EXO members have given D.O. this nickname as he had on several occasions, whipped up “kimchi spaghetti” in their dormitories for them.
D.O. was often referred to as “Chef Dyo” but there was no avenue that allowed him to show his cooking skills directly on television.
The first time his cooking was broadcasted was in the variety programme “EXO’s Showtime”, in which the dish he prepared was barbecue meat. However, all the grilled meat were rejected by the members because they were very burnt and didn’t look good enough to be eaten, and casted some doubt on his “cooking skills”.
Thereafter, D.O. managed to successfully prove his cooking skills via his own cooking segment in V Live App called “Home Cooking with Chef D.O.”. EXO D.O. made and presented soybean paste stew and pancakes to members Xiumin and Chen. The soybean paste that was used by D.O. was shockingly sold out the very next day.
Additionally, D.O. had said, “I’m interested in cooking and would love to try doing it,” revealing his desire for cooking.
