Second place! My fat ass will take it! The swim and bike went as planned. The run was to avoid hurting my hamstring more so I started out slow and picked up the pace later. It was hot, but the volunteers at #chelanman triathlon rock! All for a great cause too - kids, and programs that support their growth and development. Yay for sport that makes a difference! Big shout out to @buduracing for being heads and tails above everyone else! One more day

And then it is tri day! This time tomorrow I will be body marked, transition will be set up and I'll be getting mentally ready to race myself. I have a goal for this tri, the goal is to beat myself - to beat my last years Lavaman time. I've been told this is a faster course, I've been working my ass off - I now have new pedals on my bike that I haven't yet tried out (will happen today) I have two wetsuits one is too big and the other I haven't tried on yet (again doing it today). I don't want to write down my goal (T and i did that a while ago iAd I left it at home on purpose) and i forgot my watch at home - so I figure I am going to go out there tomorrow morning and give it all I have, every last bit of strength and heart I have - I plan to cross that finish line knowing that I have given it everything and that there was nothing left and if that is what happens then time won't matter (ok fine maybe it will a bit ;)

well....hmmm...

so went to my last spin class today before the tri - would of just biked on my trainer, but still working on that whole pedal issue....and well spin instructor (T) wasn't there and apparently the front desk had no clue - which doesn't surprise me since they people at the front desk at my gym usually have no clue anyway.  so one of the guys in the class plugged in his ipod and we all kinda did our own things.  i was pretty much planning on mostly doing my own thing anyway so that didn't really bother me - i just wanted to get my legs moving and do some rolling hills for like an hour and that is exactly what i did :)

the bike pedal issue should be sorted out tomorrow (the day before i head to chelan) nothing like waiting until the last minute - i seem to do that.  my second ever tri i put new aerobars on my bike the night before the tri - all went well though so i'm not too worried about the pedals and they will be the same pedals i have on anyway just the fancy carbon ones as opposed to the not so fancy composite ones i have ;) 

i am getting pretty stoked about the tri and really just getting out of town for a few days.

and scene...

ok kids last long brick is done - it is now two weeks to chelanman (olympic distance) i have some pain in my right leg just behind the knee - it made hills challenging and painful.  the ice is on and i am stretching and going to foam roller in a bit.  i am also going to be a good girl and call my doctor to see if i can get in to see him before the race for some active release therapy.  none-the-less i am still feeling good and confident for the race and know that i will do fine as long as i take care of myself these next two weeks.  

i do definitely know that the issue with my right leg has to do with my bike cleat - so hopefully T can fix it this week - it just feels like my cleat is making my foot go a way it doesn't want to and then my leg is going the other way - i just feel all twisted and am realizing i am over compensating for that with my left leg and most of my power is coming from the left now.  i'm all kinds of out of whack right now on the bike - but i know just a small adjustment can fix it - so here's to hoping we can get it figured out this week :)

so as of this weekend i am 12 weeks out from chelanman (olympic distance tri) my last two olympic times are as such:

2010 - probably at close to my heaviest weight

swim: 37:22

t1: 7:24

bike: 1:52:58

t2: 5:12

run: 1:29:49

finish: 4:12:43

2011 - lost about 40lbs

swim 31:26

t1: 4:32

bike: 1:37:06

t2: 4:01

run: 1:19:50

finish: 3:36:52

i apparently nap in the transition area - i just emailed this all to T and told him that he needs to kick my ass as i want to crush my 2011 time! i believe it is possible.  i have more heart this year and that is a lot of it.  i am stronger and lighter - i have more muscle than i ever have had in my life. i have a great trainer who pushes me to where i think my limit is and then to my actual limit - which happens to be way further than where i think it is.

to be honest, i'm not sure how much time i can shave off of last years swim - it will be a slightly easier swim in that it will be in a lake not ocean and apparently it is clear enough that you can see the lines in-between the buoys so you don't have to site.  it is the bike and run (and transition) where the most time can be taken off.  i need to get faster on the run!! i need to run more!

i'm not putting in a time goal here as i need to keep that in my head - i have two though, but to be honest just less time will make me happy.
