Marlee honestly hadn't meant to fall asleep against the tree in the dojo, but his voice had snapped her awake, nearly falling over in her rush to stand onto her feet, grey eyes wide and clawed hands waving almost in a gesture of surrender. "I-I'm sorry Master Splinter, sir! I-I wasn't sure if this was off limits or not- F-For me I mean I-I can leave if you want I-If you need to meditate or anything I-I'll leave-" She could go on for hours, honestly...
Splinter moved with his usual silence as he approached the tree, Raphael’s friend fast asleep beneath it, looking content in the sunbeams filtering in from above.
“Marlee?”He kept his tone gentle, and was about to call her name a second time when Marlee’s eyes flickered open. The moment she saw him she instantly leapt up, nearly stumbling as she tripped over her words, sputtering apologies as if she’d been caught doing something wrong.
“Marlee. It’s alright” he reassured. Splinter reached out to place a hand on the turtle’s shoulder “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you”
