Just outlined my Honours paper and managed to pull some sense out of the hodgepodge of things I’ve done this year. 

It’s always nice when things come together.

Now if I didn’t have two weeks to write the entire thing from scratch I’d be a lot happier.

Yesterday I finished the labwork for my honours.* This is even though it ended up being twice the number of reactions/NMRs I had planned, and included that addition completely unplanned IR and UV.

But it’s done.

*pending a conversation with my supervisor on Monday and approval of what I did today.

In one day, I ran:

two pryolyses

four oxidations

5 NMRs

8 IRs

6 UVs

At least most of it went well and I only have to repeat 1/4 of it?

My first time in two years doing NMR.

I didn’t break anything and I even got useful results!

Adventures in presenting

When I am considering adding paragraph indents to the text on my poster to make it easier to read, there is too much text on the poster.

I made a thing!

I’m pretty happy because the last time I tried this I failed miserably.

And that is how you know this was not an organic chemistry paper.
