A Grassy Meadow and a Backdrop of the East-Central San Juan Mountains by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While staying at the Elk Trace Bed & Breakfast in the area around Pagosa Springs, Colorado, one Saturday morning. The setting is to the northeast in front of the main porch area with a view looking to ridges and peaks of the East-Central San Juan Mountains.

The ​Day ​Is ​Gone by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: The ​Day ​Is ​Gone Put all the hurts and worries away The sun has set The evening is nigh The mountains are calling Showing off a majestic glow So take​ in the view Savor a day lived And look forward to tomorrow} Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one late afternoon in Colorado at bed and breakfast location stayed overnight in the Pagosa Springs. The view is looking to the northeast to ridges and peaks of the East-Central San Juan Mountains. This was at a bed-and-breakfast place I stayed overnight after exploring more of southeastern Colorado in Durango and Silverton. So after many hours of driving this day, it felt wonderful to take in a mountain view for the evening. As for the skies above, it was as I began working on the image in post-production that I then decided to once again try out the sky replacement setting in Photoshop with this image. The sunset colors with the clouds definitely seemed appropriate for this Colorado mountain setting in what I had loved seeing. So the skies are part of the Adobe stock images in Photoshop but all else is captured with my Nikon D850 SLR camera. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 7 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.

Still Wishing I Was There by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the northeast while taking in views across a nearby grassy meadow with evergreen trees to more distant ridges and peaks of the East-Central San Juan Mountains. This was while staying at the Elk Trace Bed & Breakfast in the Pagosa Springs area of Colorado. My thought in composing this image was to capture a balanced, leveled-on view with our horizon, aligning the mountains off the distance along the image center. I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation in DxO PhotoLab 7. I then exported a TIFF image to Nik Color Efex Pro 6 where I added a Polarization, Foliage, and Pro Contrast filter for that last effect on the image captured.
