Peas N Carrots X The Good Company Pop Up Shop Freestyle
For us it’s about a concise brand identity, the artwork and visuals should marry with the music and artist. Casey’s brand, I think it’s about representing what I quantify as “California streetwear culture” that Casey and his movement are very much intertwined with coming from that Rosewood/Fairfax scene, but at the same time it stands on it’s own two feet. Peas & Carrots Intl. along with Casey is an organic movement all it’s own, visually it’s about reflecting that. Just generally speaking I think a lot of music or the music I’m familiar with is under or poorly branded, you go from one piece to the next and don’t realize it’s the same artist or it’s just poorly done. That’s not to say there aren’t pieces we do that go out and a few days later I’m like “aww man” (inside joke, haha) x or y thing could be better, but the turnover is pretty fast on most stuff. I think a concise rollout of branded materials is crucial in market that’s HEAVILY saturated. Take Casey’s Canadian tour, there’s folder on my hard drive with two dozen files for a tour with 4 dates, everything from merchandise, web banners, flyers, etc… If you look at that as a microcosm of what Casey can build into or what CherryCo. can manage and in terms of branding, you’re virtually ready for what’s to come and at that level where those things are often overlooked. I look at things like MMG, sometimes it’s a bit “hood” for my tastes, and some of the individual pieces like mixtape artworks are questionable at best, but it’s very well branded from an MMG standpoint and I look forward to taking some of the artist brands I’ve help build to that level and just simply managing artist brands of that stature as CherryCo. builds.
