Failed Negotiations
A/N: I haven’t seen any content with these two so far, so I decided to change that. Number 18 - Negotiation - of @vqler's Tickletober prompt list of 2025 ft. Tsuge and Minato from Cherry Magic.
Words: 1,078 words under the cut
Minato was curled on the small couch with his usual energy, shoulders slouched but eyes bright, while Tsuge sat more rigidly next to him, hands folded neatly in his lap. Udon, had claimed the armrest above them, tail flicking lazily as if he were judging the entire scene.
They had only been officially dating for a short while now, but for Minato, every moment felt like he’d been given a second chance at life. Being able to sit this close, to hold Tsuge’s hand, to lean against him - even just brushing shoulders - was like being wrapped in the coziest blanket. Still, he wanted more. He always wanted to be closer.
“Tsuge-san,” Minato started, his tone both teasing and earnest, “you really need to let me know where I can touch you.” Tsuge blinked at him, his face already tinged with pink. “Wh-Where you can touch me?”
“Yeah,” Minato said, scooting a little closer, his knee brushing against Tsuge’s thigh, “I love skinship, you know. Holding hands, hugging, cuddling… but I don’t want to cross any lines that make you uncomfortable. So,” he leaned in, eyes shining mischievously, “where am I allowed?”
Tsuge’s heart skipped. Minato’s closeness, his warmth, the sincerity behind his playful tone - it was overwhelming in the most terrifyingly beautiful way. And Tsuge had a secret weighing on him: When they touched skin-to-skin, he could hear Minato’s thoughts. Every stray worry, every sweet desire, every embarrassing crush-thought he’d had - all of it.
It wasn’t something Tsuge was ready to admit. Not yet. So he panicked. His gaze darted to the armrest, where Udon was lounging like a guardian angel. He scooped the cat into his arms, hugging him to his chest like a shield. “I, um… I-I’m very ticklish.” The blonde blinked. Then, slowly, a grin spread across his face, wide and playful. “You’re… ticklish?”
Tsuge nodded quickly, hoping the admission would be enough to distract Minato, maybe even get him to stop pushing for now. “Yes. Very. So maybe you shouldn’t… you know…” But Minato wasn’t retreating. Quite the opposite. His grin softened into something mischievous, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
He gently reached forward, plucking Udon from Tsuge’s arms and setting the cat onto the floor. “Sorry, Udon. I need to test something.” “Wait- Minato-” Tsuge’s protest was cut short when Minato suddenly leaned forward, straddling him right there on the couch.
Tsuge’s back pressed into the cushions, his breath hitching as Minato’s hands hovered dangerously close to his sides. “So…” Minato drawled, tilting his head like a fox about to pounce, “is it really true?”
Tsuge’s mind raced. He could already feel the warmth radiating off Minato, could already hear his unspoken thoughts swirling to life the moment Minato’s fingers brushed his shirt. “He looks so nervous… he’s adorable. I wonder what his laugh sounds like. I want to hear it. I want to hear more than that, too…”
“Don’t,” Tsuge tried weakly, his voice trembling, “I’ll really-” Minato’s fingers pressed into his sides, wiggling gently. Tsuge burst into laughter right away, his entire body jolting as he squirmed under Minato. “A-Ahh! Hahaha! Minatohohoho! Stohhhp! I’m tiHihickliHish!”
The blonde’s smile softened into awe. Tsuge’s laughter wasn’t stiff or polite, no it was bright, bubbling, and completely unguarded. “Wow… you’re really ticklish,” Minato teased, his voice almost melting with affection. His hands traveled up Tsuge’s sides, tickling lightly as Tsuge wriggled beneath him, face flushed red.
“Ihht’s- ahhh! It’s not fahhhair!” Tsuge gasped between laughs, but Minato only leaned closer, his grin wide. “God, his laugh is even cuter than I imagined. I can’t believe I get to see this side of him. I want to keep hearing it… I want him to trust me like this always.” Hearing Minato’s thoughts through his laughter made Tsuge’s heart lurch.
He wanted to hide, but his body betrayed him, squirming and twisting as Minato dug gently into his ribs. “Minato hahahaha p-pleHehaase!” Minato chuckled, lowering his voice. “Please what? Please stop? Or… please keep going?” His hands moved up, fluttering against the ravenhead’s stomach through the fabric of his shirt.
Tsuge’s laughter spiked, his legs kicking against the couch that it made Minato nearly topple off the couch, his glasses slipping crookedly down his nose. “AHhh! NoOohohoho! Th-That tiHihickles too much!” However, Minato’s just continued to smile down at him, his heart melting at the sight of his laughing boyfriend.
And then, in a sudden, daring move, he bent down, pressing his lips softly against the side of Tsuge’s neck. Tsuge froze for half a second, before dissolving into laughter again, the sensation of Minato’s lips mixed with the ticklish tingle making him lose control. “Ahhh! M-Minato! Hhhahahah nohohot there!”
Minato grinned against his skin, his lips brushing warm trails along Tsuge’s neck while his fingers continued to wiggle into his ribs. “So sensitive here too? You’re too cute,” he murmured, his words sending shivers through Tsuge. The fact that - through it all - Tsuge could hear his unfiltered thoughts made the tickling even more effective.
“I love the way he sounds. I want to kiss him more. I want to make him happy. I want him to feel safe with me.” Overwhelmed, Tsuge’s laughter began to shift into something softer, breathier. His squirming slowed as Minato’s lips lingered, warm and teasing against his neck.
Then - unexpectedly - Tsuge let out a small, unguarded moan when Minato had used his tongue to lick along his neck, just aiming to tease him. Both of them froze. Minato pulled back just enough to look down at him, eyes wide, his own face bright red.
Tsuge stared back, equally flushed, his chest rising and falling quickly from the ticklish onslaught and the intimacy of the moment. For a long second, neither spoke. Then Minato, his cheeks still burning like fire, gave a crooked grin.
“I… uh… I think I want to hear more of that too.” Tsuge covered his face with his hands, groaning into them, but his smile peeked through, shy and helpless. Minato laughed softly, brushing his hair back as Udon meowed indignantly from the floor, as if demanding attention again. The heavy tension eased into warmth.
They both laughed nervously, the sound filling the cozy room, but neither pulled away. For the first time, Tsuge realized that maybe - just maybe - sharing even the most vulnerable sides of himself wasn’t as scary as he thought. “…Do as you please…”
