ok after talking to a person who knows their shit, i will be leaving Rory’s species as-is,

#i get very wrapped up in animal species symbolism SPECIFICALLY because of my background in the daemonism ... fandom... culture.. thing #where We Are All Obsessed with what a species means because it's like. The Whole Point #but i dont want to step into weird territory with ppl misinterpreting my intentions #and i want to put it out there that i Will Not do the species=race thing in any of my stories #cuz that can get .. bad.. very quickly #text #ramblings #cherryaid

im frankly thinking about changing rory from a pine marten to a mink. i really want the species to SAY something about the character, and i mostly chose the marten for reasons that boil down to "it is cute and round."

minks are farmed for their fur amd are linked with like... rich sexy ladies, so it might be Too Much, but i really like the idea that her species is one that's farmed for a luxury good. plus minks are semi-aquatic, aka adaptable, and i can make a bisexual joke in there somewhere--

I saw you renamed Riss to Luz and just,,, that made me smile bc my cousin's name is Luz and my whole family on my dad's side has very hispanic names and its so nice to see them!!
