im thinking some shit went down at the private school. which would explain a lot, actually! like, namely,
Obviously Lucy claims that she came back because she just wanted everything to be normal again, and her whole family & life is in Roseville, but it's still a good question. She doesn't seem happy with her friends, she's trying to keep her family at arm's length despite needing support, she's continuing to spiral pretty badly... why didn't she stay at private school and try to recover and start over?
I'm looking at the fact that her nightmares have been shown to happen twice: once when she was staying over at Augustus's house, where Alejandro could have VERY easily been brought in to do some more damage to her. And after coming back from private school. COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT--
I genuinely think something Bad happened when she was gone. something to REALLY trigger her, send her into a worse spiral revolving around sexual assault. Her PTSD symptoms have been intense since she returned -- nightmares, lashing out, dissociating, etc. Plus, there was the lashing out in It's All In The Mind that seemed directly related to... unwanted advances / SA being pushed on her :|
I think Lucy was assaulted at private school. I think she had a realization of "it's going to be awful wherever I am, so I might as well be home." I also think that some part of her thought about how Mike was the only one who stepped up for her when she was being assaulted, and that she felt safer closer to him.
