      CHERRYRPG EVENT                        saturday night’s alright.

in riverside, georgia, homecoming has always been a big deal. students participate in everything from start to finish - an entire week of spirit days, a dance for the entire school the weekend of, alumni traveling back to partake in the activities they once indulged in when they were young, and most of all, there’s the parade to crown the years king & queen of riverside high.  it’s become a tradition since the late 80′s for the junior and senior class to spend the saturday night prior overnight at the school, clubs working on their floats in the gymnasium and cafeteria, eating and living together for 24ish hours in the very school they’re subjected to day in and day out.  the students are invited to bring pajamas, to sleep where they can find a spot, and it’s become as much of a party as it has anything else.  this years will be tainted with the loss of coach brock, who always supplied them with a cook out in the parking lot, but coach whitehouse has already been slated to fill that position as well as the head coach role. alcohol inevitably finds its way into the event, drugs passed around, and before too long, it’s just another long party with everyone they know and love ( or hate ).

for this event, we will have an in character discord chat in conjunction with our group chat server, made specifically for group para’ing/communication. we welcome all forms of communication throughout the night - paras, face to face interactions, texting, etc. and encourage players to think about what kind of floats they’d be participating in besides the cheer and football floats.  all posts for said event should be tagged cherryhomecoming to help differentiate what’s for the event and what isn’t.  more information about the event will come out in the weeks leading up to it, but we wanted everyone to be as prepared as possible to enjoy a night of debauchery fun IC for our group! as always, if there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to send them in!

     CHERRYRPG EVENT                        friendsgiving 2019.

thanksgiving - the official start of the holiday season, and a time where many are forced to be around family they can barely stand as it is. an american tradition full of food, fights and that one drunk uncle no one wants around anyways, riverside’s teens have endured their family for it for long enough.  hosted by merrick wood, this year there’ll be an alternative option: friendsgiving! on friday, november 15th, she put invitations inside the lockers of 14 of her closest friends to join her for an afternoon of good food, good drinks and hopefully, more fun than they’d have all separated. all are invited to attend to dress up, bring some food, and have a much more pleasant thanksgiving evening than they might have otherwise.  with the amount of distrust between the teens and their parents this year, it seems like the start of a tradition - at least, for those who may stay within riverside’s town lines post - high school.  starting after the game ends until they’re all too full to move or go home, merrick’s opening her family’s lakeside cabin to all - even those who aren’t as close as they might have once been.

we welcome all forms of communication throughout the night - paras, face to face interactions, texting, etc. and encourage players to think about plots prior to the start of the event. we will not hold an IC discord this time around, as it wasn’t utilized the last time around and the dash was very active instead.  all posts for said event should be tagged cherryfriendsgiving to help differentiate what’s for the event and what isn’t. a much more casual event than the last time, we understand if not everyone is able to attend - thanksgiving can take up time IRL for many people, and for those outside of the US, work and school have to take precedence. we hope that we’ll all be around to dedicate to some fun and debauchery - this time, the event is strictly about relaxing for the teens - no disappearances, arsons or murders during the evening.  as always, if there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to send them in!

     CHERRYRPG EVENT                       SATURDAY NIGHT’S ALRIGHT.

we are officially live with our very first event here at cherryrpg ! 

on our in character group text discord server, there is now an additional text thread labeled ‘homecoming2019′ - feel free to use this as an in character quick para / chat-esque location for general plotting, or feel free to post on the dash using the tag ‘cherryhomecoming’.

general reminders: 

while the students are locked in, they are still well fed and watched over. parents, teacher and staff have all volunteered to spend the night with the students, including but not limited to: coach whitehouse, coach armstrong, coach garland, mr. & mrs. crane, ms. moore, and mrs. wood. 

they are allowed to have their cell phones, which means texting is still a viable option for playing out on the dash. 

they are allowed mostly free roam around the school. rooms deigned ‘potentially dangerous’ such as the science labs, the shop classrooms and the kitchen are locked up and off limits, while the gymnasium, cafeteria, library, hallways, and sporadic classrooms throughout are left open for the kids to move between. 

the main focus of the lock in is to create floats for the upcoming parade - the homecoming court will have to create their own, while the cheer squad has one, the football team has one, student council, and various other extracurriculars along the way. 

the school will reopen for students to leave shortly after brunch is served at 12pm est. 

as of right now, the time is almost 9pm EST - meaning the students are officially locked in, fed, and on the cusp of boredom from being there for 2-4 hours already !

reminder update ; 

tomorrow evening marks our very first cherryrpg event ! all players are invited to participate, whether on the dash, through paras / chats / etc., and/or with our discord server that will appear tomorrow evening !

the school will be open at 5pm to allow any junior / senior class member who participates in extracurriculars to spend the night to work on their homecoming float for the parade on wednesday. food is provided with a cookout from 7pm - 9pm by coach whitehouse and armstrong, with coach garland supplying beverages. 

the doors to the school will be locked at 7pm. 

there will be chaparones  - primarily teachers and a few parent volunteers - to ensure the kids aren’t drinking / doing drugs / having sex / etc. ( every year, all three of these things end up happening in some capacity anyways, just like during the school day. ) 

the kids are encouraged to bring pajamas and sleeping bags, and are allowed to spend the night in any open room - primarily the cafeteria, gymnasium, library and hallways - though most classrooms ( including but not limited to the science classrooms ) will be closed off.  sunday morning, the kids are once again fed with a brunch put on by the riverside PTA, before being let go around 12pm EST.  for more details, feel free to look HERE, and if there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask on or off anon, and we look forward to seeing you there!
