weāve decided to come to a close. while this has been one of the best groups weāve ever had the pleasure of running, things have gotten too busy for the admin team to dedicate themselves to the group the way itās needed.
we thank all players, past and present, for having shaped this group into the phenomenal place it was. we created some amazing stories together, and we appreciate all the hard work that was put in from all of our players.
feel free to continue your own storylines in small groups / 1x1s / what have you - the main will be closed down and we respectfully ask that you not create your own group based on our storyline / the characters we created - but to those of you still here, they are now your characters to do with what you wish. you brought life to them, and we hope you continue to care for them as we will care for our own.
you can find the admins specifically at their indie blogs - merrick/ashley and holly/becca - and feel free to exchange your information as you wish !Ā
hopefully this will not be the end of our friendships, though it is the end of the game.
thank you, and have an amazing rest of your journeys.Ā ā”
since our olivia is lili reinhart, just about anyone could work, really ! for some reason, the only suggestions i can think about are all brunette men ( not that that wouldnāt work, i am just completely blanking on blondes ! ) since i donāt watch a lot of television aimed at teens anymore. THIS small list includes faces the current players would be excited to see, though, so it might be a good jumping off point until you find your perfect luke !
AĀ TIME HONORED TRADITION, every valentineās day, riverside high school puts on its sadie hawkins dance. originally meant to flip the script, encouraging the girls to ask the boys in more and more elaborate ways, the sadie hawkins is a fun, carefree night where girls can dress up and guys can cut loose and everyone finds an excuse to party in the woods after the gym is closed down for the night.Ā
posters have gone up all over the school, and nominations for sadie kingās court - the five men whoāllĀ āfightā for the honor of sadie hawkins king - will be open soon.Ā
an informal dance for all grades, the gymnasium is dressed in hearts and the punch somehow always gets spiked, with parent chaperones sneaking their own flasks as theyĀ āwatchā over the students who use it as an excuse for a school sanctioned party.Ā
itās a time honored tradition dating back to the 50s, and just because the town is falling apart doesnāt mean principal figgins will let the tradition fail this year.Ā
the actual dance will take place on saturday, february 15th at 7pm EST in the gymnasium at riverside high school. it goes until 10pm.Ā
due to scheduling, this will not be anĀ āeventā for the group, but is encouraged to be used for plots / paras / etc. for players !
a survey will go up in the next few days with our kings court nominees to vote for sadie king !
this will be a fun plot ! there is no ulterior motive for moreĀ āharshā events - this is supposed to be an excuse for characters to let loose a little, relax, and have fun !
if you have any questions, please donāt hesitate to ask!

WRITING SAMPLE.
It was too grown up for her. If anyone were to walk into her Fatherās too-big kitchen at that moment, that would probably be their response to the seventeen-year-old with a glass of red wine in her hand. But it was many a summer that Olivia had spent in France with her mother; drinking a glass of wine with dinner since she was nearly twelve years old. Much to her Fatherās dismay, she made no plans of stopping that tradition any time soon⦠Even if she had upgraded from just a glass to just half the bottle in the last couple of years. It was different in Atlanta, where everyone around her was always popping champagne for brunch, lunch, and dinner; pretending to be more mature than they really were for the sake of appearances. Ā And besides, it wasnāt as if her father was going to notice the missing alcohol, anyway. It wasnāt very often he noticed anything about her at all, really. Choosing instead to focus his energy on just how big of a disappointment she thought Luke to be.
It was one of the things she thought she loved about Riverside, andbesides the hoops her brother was always jumping through at the urging of their father, it was nearly perfect. Sure, she had been free to do as she pleased in Atlanta - as long as her mother approved - but in the little town she was hardly expected to answer to anybody. Her father was always busy (either with work, or with Luke), her teachers loved her (for some reason she couldnāt quite put her finger on), and she hadnāt found herself wanting to get into any actual trouble since she first arrivedā¦not when she knew that familiar faces were lurking around every corner. It was strange how grounded it all made her feel; like the chaos that had been building up in her chest for the last seventeen years of her life was finally dissipating.
She had always considered herself a city girl - convinced that the flash of the lights and the parties were the only reasons to go on some nights - but with every day she spent in the little town, she found the city, any city, being the last place she wanted to be. No, Olivia wouldnāt trade sneaking glasses of wine in her fatherās farmhouse style kitchen for anything now. She was a Riverside girl, and she was planning on staying that way for as long she could stand it.
It was the crunch of leaves behind her that tipped Olivia off to her visitor; ears flushing an embarrassed shade of pink as she was caught red handed and bloodied by the barn door she had been not-so-subtly trying to break through. The cheerleader just spun around in her spot, skirt fluttering around her thighs with the sudden movement, as she caught the stranger right back. Her bloodstained fingertips - stupid, old wood - hidden behind her back while she spoke. āIāll admit that I probably shouldnāt be out here.ā In fact, she knew it was the last place she should be; seemingly abandoned or not, property was property, and it usually belonged to someone.
But the barn had practically been calling her name since she had first laid eyes on it, and she could only imagine the secrets that the inside of it held⦠Even if what was inside only seemed to be a dusty old tractor and a couple two-by-fours. That hardly mattered to Olivia though, because once she decided that something was beautiful, it was beautiful, and she had to uncover itās secrets at all costs. āI mean, itās a weird situation, right? Teenage girl, abandoned barn⦠What the hell am I doing out here, even? But Iād like to point out the fact that your lurking around in the woods puts you, at least, like ā three points ahead of me on the creep scale. So, what do you say? Your creep move cancels out my creep move? We call it even?ā
ABOUT THE CHARACTER.
The Louvre - Lorde
We Will Become Silhouettes - The Shins
Pretty Baby - Blondie
āIām screaming at the top of my lungs pretending the echoes belong to someone⦠Someone I used to know.ā - The Postal Service
headcanons :
Olivia has a hard time listening to her parents, her teachers, her elders, the police, and⦠any type of authority figure, really. Sheās been highly independent since day one, with a mother and father like hers, she had to be to survive, and itās all resulted in the most headstrong teenager in existence. She does what she wants to do, and only what she wants to do, and since escaping Atlanta and her motherās near constant guilt trips⦠The fact has never been truer. Olivia knows that sheās all she needs to survive - well, herself, and her parents money.
Her brother is the only exception to the the walls that she builds around herself. She would sell her soul to keep Luke safe, and always gets herself into trouble if it means keeping him out of it. Olivia is protective because she knows that at the end of the day, Luke is the only person she really has in the world. Sheās not close to her mother, and she knows neither of them are very close to their father. While she has no idea how Luke really feels about her fierce protective nature, she isnāt sure she could tone it down if she wanted to.
Olivia thrived in Atlanta. She was the perfect socialite, and she had only found herself resenting the shallow lifestyle a few times throughout her life; who could possibly resent getting everything they ever wanted? But the Riverside lifestyle has grown on her in a way that she had never been expecting. For the first time in her life she doesnāt have to worry about the way she looks, or whoās going to see her, or what she can and canāt eat to fit in whatever dress for wherever her mother was dragging her next.
For the first time in her whole life, she didnāt need to look in the mirror at every opportunity. She didnāt feel afraid of making friends. She wasnāt worried about anyone stabbing her in the back or using her as their step-up in society.
personality :
Olivia is highly independent, and itās always led to her skirting through life as a lone wolf. Sure, she had her āfriendsā back in Atlanta, but she knew she could never truly count on the girls she had grown up with. Olivia has trust issues - sheās skeptical of nearly everyone - but something about the small relationships sheās forged in Riverside have changed her in a way. Olivia is more open to talking than ever; she actually goes out just to be around people rather than to get champagne drunk on a dance floor. Ā Her lonesome streak might never be shaken, though.
Sometimes she prefers watching people from afar, even those she calls friends. She prefers an empty building to the company of even Luke sometimes. Abandoned places - quiet spaces - are Oliviaās safe place, and if someone is lucky enough to be invited into one of them, they can probably consider themselves a part of her inner circle.
Liv completely expected to hate every part of joining the Cheerleading squad, but after a few weeks of getting her ass handed to her with workouts and routines, she quickly found herself changing her tune. It was a challenge that had made her feel more alive - more like a teenager - than anything she had ever done in Atlanta. Maybe it was all stereotypes from the dumb movies she had seen over the course of her childhood, but the girls on the squad were nothing like she had expected them to be either. Call it a soft spot, but she was certainly willing to go the extra mile for the girls on the squad⦠even if it seemed completely out of the ordinary for her.
ANYTHING ELSE.
I think Olivia probably mostly goes by Liv! But I love weird nicknames, so call her Picasso, or Monet, or even Weirdo Ā - whatever you want! - because I think it would be fun!
while the arrival of 2020 has already come and gone by almost a month, we invite players to take a look at their characters resolutions for the new year !Ā
this challenge will be ongoing and open to any and all future players, even post-acceptance.
this challenge is focused primarily on the developmental aspect of your muse, though you can also use it creatively with aesthetics, moodboards, mix tapes, etc.
feel free to post paras / self paras / journal entries / headcanons / etc. to dive into their resolutions and what they currently mean to them.
some things to consider:
do they believe in resolutions? is it a once a year thing, or aĀ āchange when you need toā thing for them?
how often do they keep their resolutions?Ā
are they still going strong? or have old habits continued regardless?Ā
do they tell everyone their resolutions? are they one to post about it on social media, or keep it to themselves? do they write it down in journals, or keep track of their progress somehow?
resolutions are often seen as a way to fix old bad habits, but they can help establish new good habits as well - does your character do both, or one vs the other?
do they have more than one resolution?Ā
this challenge IS 100% OPTIONAL - itās meant to help inspire muse, create a closer connection to your character, and connect with your fellow players!
tag all creations with #CHERRYRPG and #CHERRYCHALL so everyone can see it!
as explained both HERE and HERE, most of our base interactions are social media based - aka, not face to face. however, paras / face to face interactions are not only welcome, but encouraged, as they help build development within the group !
weāre not the busiest roleplay, but weāre certainly active and our core group has been here for over six months and are still dedicated to playing out this story!Ā
Dear mom and dad,
I am thankful that you sent me to Edenās Gate. We are learning everything about the scripture and working more and more towards being the person that God wants me to be. In the next few weeks, we will be baptized and will have a chance to continue the cirrculum as born again. I love the both of you and hope I will be able to get a second chance.Ā
Tell all of my friends I love them and canāt wait to see them soon.Ā
-Bradley
Sounds of pencil across paper occupied the room, the otherĀ ācampersā in the barracks were copying the same format written on the projector in the middle of the room. Letters were written every week, and there were never any freedom in their letters. Every letter was checked before turned in, it was nearly impossible to write just how inhumane Edenās Gate was. Bradley had been seen as an animal, along with other LGBT+ kids whose parents thought they could beĀ āfixed.ā Heād been cut off from every one of his friends, his hair cut into a buzz, and most hours had been spent getting scripture and Godās words being thrown at them through the most aggressive means.
Memories of his camp experiences filled his mind as he moved from his bunk to the floor. There rarely seemed to be any happiness in this dorm, as kids from across the state were sent here with the belief from their parents or guardians that they could be changed. Crying could be heard every night along with the relentless leads and higher-ups that had the free will to act as they needed. He tried to keep a smile on his face, playing along just so he could be free from this place. Even in his hardest times where heād been put in solitary or given extra physical labor for every wrong thing he did, thereād been the usual Bradley Crane who could always find some sort of positive side.
For dinner tonight they were shown flash images of theĀ āideal coupleā along with negative associations of LGBT+ activities or whatever else was againstĀ āGod.ā Looking away from the video and getting caught meant punishment, coughing or any act that distracts others meant punishment, and the wrong adult or lead getting the wrong idea meant punishment. There was nothing Bradley could do, and at this point he had a reason to not smile. He lost weight from nights they werenāt given food, had bruises on his skin from whatever physical activity, knowing he looked like a completely different person that looking in the mirror was the hardest thing to do in the morning.
āHereās my letter, Si-ā Without getting to finish his words, Bradley felt a sharp push and before he knew it had been on the floor.Ā
āDid I call your bunk line, Crane?ā Bradley knew his bunk had been called. He shook his head yes and was greeted with a sharp kick to his side.Ā āDonāt give me attitude. You were .2 seconds too late.ā The man snickered, and Bradley did his best to ignore him and stand up. Another shove to the ground happened, and without getting any chances to react heād been pulled by his collar and making it harder to breath.
āYou do realize that if you keep this shit up. We can keep you here even longer. Actually, you could even be transferred to our more intense unit.ā The words repeated themselves through Bradleyās mind, and the sudden flash of all the bad memories came rushing to him. Fear had truly set in, and thatās when the world around Bradley suddenly went black as he loudly screamed in terror until his eyes fully closed.
āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā
Bradleyās eyes opened and he looked around to see his actual bedroom. His heart was Ā pounding and he was shortened of breath. Without any hesitation he stood up and made sure his door had been locked. Heād seen so many YouTube videos and documentaries of children and teens being taken out of the rooms and taken to camps heād been having nightmares about ever since his parents and the town found out about his sexuality. Even when he was sure heād locked the door, Bradley tugged on the door to truly contain his nerves.
Nights like this were his lifestyle, always worrying that his parents will attempt to take control of his life through their own means. The amount of pamphlets heād seen and the conversations behind closed doors made him worried that any day could be the one where his worst nightmare would come alive. He was at rock bottom, and he didnāt know what could bring him out.
ABOUT THE CHARACTER.
Headcanons:
Bradley joined the football team originally to help cover-up for his sexuality. He didnāt start playing football until he was 13-years-old. Somehow he managed to be a decent player because of his speed and average height that made him a surprise to members of his team and the opposing one.
Bradley took up a job at the local skate shop after not being welcomed back to his familyās church services. The shop hired him on the spot, and the job has been a good means of getting out of the house.
Bradley has constant nightmares of being sent to conversion camp. Many hours have gone into researching how horrible these camps are, even writing anonymous letters and phone-calls to his government reps to bring attention to the issue. The research and fear of conversion camp has Bradley waking up in the middle of the night, constantly locking his door multiple times, Ā and looking over his shoulders when going home at night.
The school recommended Bradley go into counseling after outted. Heās kept it a secret because he knows his parents would have a major problem with it.
Heās very into e-sports. Heās not a popular twitch streamer but has a steady following where people watch him play league of legends, call of duty titles, and other competitive games.
Bradley is the youngest of 2 siblings. His older siblings are both in college, engaged to their high school sweethearts and have plans on working in the church and staying in Riverside. Though his siblings are different than him, they are all pretty close. Heās closest with his older sister who has been one of his biggest supporters and heās usually calling her to rant about everything going on.
Once he was outted, Bradley spent several weeks locked up in his room. He didnāt go to school for the first week, and spent the last two weeks going to class and going home - avoiding all practices and extra cirriculurs.
if you look HERE, we have a small list of faceclaims the group as a whole would like to see - any of them could potentially work for bradley, as well as a variety of others. when we were originally creating the characters ( over 7 months ago ! ) our original intention was for someone with more of aĀ ādorkyā kind of vibe than aĀ āsmoothā one - but ultimately weāre strong believers in the fact that the writer can bring life to any character with their faceclaim choice, so long as itās who they see when thinking about the character!
If I applied for Bradley would you prefer I keep the FC the same? I don't mind either way and don't have anyone in mind.
thatās entirely up to you ! with a new applicant, we know that some people would prefer a different face, and for us it doesnāt really matter one way or the other. we would just love to see a bradley again after so long!Ā
Ā Ā CHERRYRPG PLOT
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ALL OUR TIMES HAVE COME.
AFTER THE ARREST OF COACH WHITEHOUSE and the return of coach garland, it seems like all of riverside has put the past six months to rest. the town is ready to move on, pushing past the disturbing incident between the high school coaches, and chalk everything up to love gone wrong. vanessa garland, reinstated cheerleading coach, is now apologized to in the grocery store, applauded by the women of riverside whoĀ āalways believed in herā, told that sheās an idol to their children and theyāre grateful to her - much different talk than she was receiving only three months prior.Ā
but while some are ready to ignore the rest of the disappearances in town, a select few are still investigating, even if itās on their own. led by none other than the football teams frankie bartlett, a small group ofĀ ā private detectivesĀ ā as they called themselves tried to sneak into the college campus, to find former students and professors, to sneak into the houses of those who had left suddenly without a trace. it seemed like there were no answers to be found.Ā
and then, on the night of sunday, january 12th, a breakthrough. merrick wood received a text while out with the squad that simply stated:Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā i figured it out. i know what happened. call me !!!!
she didnāt notice until hours later, and, exhausted, she fell asleep without reaching out to frankie.Ā
by monday, january 13th, however, itās too late.Ā
frankieās gone too.Ā
after searching for him throughout the school building, calling his cell number only to find it disconnected, and even showing up to the house he shares with his mother - empty, deserted, just like the others - the case of the disappearing town seems a lot less funny than it did a few days ago.Ā
because now, itās one of them.Ā
now, frankieās disappeared.Ā
this will all be taking place between sunday, january 12th and monday, january 13th meaning players should begin discussing it tomorrow.Ā
since frankie is a playable character, when we get an application / accept a frankie bartlett, the player will be informed of necessary information / will signal the return of frankie and his mother.Ā
this will start the secondĀ āchapterā of mystery, which will focus entirely on the community college and the disappearances happening around town.Ā
if there are any questions, please feel free to send them our way !
Ā Ā Ā CHERRYRPG PLOT
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā THE TRUTH COMES OUT.
in an unlikely turn of events, the riverside falcons have made it all the way to semi-finals, one game away from taking the state championships.Ā
and once again, the town of riverside is flipped upside down.
third quarter, the falcons are up 7 to 6 in a tight lead when the cops come up, charging the field and heading right for head coach casey whitehouse, reading him his rights and arresting him mid-game. the players donāt even realize what happens until their opponents, long time rivals calvary cardinals score on the falcons, the stands distracted by the arrival of not just riverside police, but state investigators as well.Ā
the game is forced to pressure on, but itās obvious from that moment on: the team is tanked.Ā
while the falcons are distracted, the cardinals score one, two, three more times, and in the end the falcons dream of another state championship is destroyed as armstrong tries in vain to keep them going. but already the rumor mill is swirling, the cheerleaders trying to cheer even as the tension in the stadium is unrivaled to anything theyāve ever seen before.Ā
itās the arrival of garland on the field that finally puts the pieces back into place, and garland who takes the girls back to her formally abandoned home to tell them the truth:Ā
Ā the afternoon at the brock house, there were four people present. coach brock and his wife, coach garland, and assistant coach whitehouse.Ā
after a few too many beers ( and lines of coke, an addiction heād kept hidden for months now ), the truth about an affair between whitehouse and dr. brock came out, loud and clear - with a fight, an argument, and dr. brock trying to come between her husband and her boyfriend. it was whitehouse who shoved her, pushing her away as he tried to get to brock, his boss and mentor, causing her to hit her head on the pavement. while garland tried to perform cpr, it was evident that nothing would help -Ā
she was dead on impact.Ā
whitehouse disappeared while brock called the cops, and garland stayed silent when they arrived, knowing how the scene looked without the fourth member present to their party. leaving with them willingly, she was prepared to tell them the truth - until the gun went off in an upstairs bedroom, a gun that belonged to whitehouse, not brock. while she was unsure at first whether it was suicide or murder, she kept her mouth shut - accidents happen, grief causes crazy reactions, and she could take whatever the town of riverside threw at her.Ā
what she couldnāt take was the threatening of her own life, of her girls, of her safety - and when whitehouse got too aggressive, she did what she needed to and disappeared. but not without help - mayor whitney wood helped burrow her away at a home rented by her own older sister, trying to get her to come forward with the truth. but it took time, and it took trust, and finally -Ā
the right man will go to jail for his actions.
this took place on wednesday, december 11th around 8pm EST.Ā
garland will be officially reinstated as head coach on thursday, december 12th, with wagner demoted to assistant coach after a lobby of complaints from the entire squad.Ā
the football season is officially over, after a drastic loss of 43-6 to their rivals, the calvary cardinals.Ā
whitehouse is officially in jail, refusing to speak and a public lawyer is being hired to defend him. the school will take some time to look into finding a new coach, keeping armstrong as the assistant for now.Ā
if there are any questions, please feel free to send them our way !
Hi! I'm thinking of applying but I'm just wondering, are all interactions required to be text based? I see from looking on different pages that a lot of interactions are more old style and not the new rp style with a lot of body language then speech in speech marks in that. Secondly, is it possible to be accepted for both a male and female character at the same time when applying?
We do paras and face to face interactions as well, but our primary base interactions areĀ āoldā style i suppose with dash conversations. iām mobile, but if you look through our rules page, it does explain how our dashboard works.
also, we donāt allow members to have more than one character - it could limit interactions and, especially for someone new, i wouldnāt want activity to dip on one character vs the other. itās also a small group, and weād rather have 15 individuals with unique interpretations than, say, five players tackling a bunch of different characters. if youāre torn between characters, you can absolutely apply for both, but we would only accept one of them.Ā
Ā Ā Ā CHERRYRPG PLOT
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ALL MUST END.
chloe,Ā
enclosed is enough to support your medical bills and an apartment until you get yourself on your feet. this isnāt what i wanted, and i canāt take responsibility like i should. i have a family, one i love very much, but i donāt want you to be completely on your own.Ā
youāll be a part of my life due to your relationships with my daughters, and iām sure that the child will be as beautiful as you are. iām sorry i couldnāt be the man you - or my wife and children - need me to be.Ā
please understand why i canāt be involved. knowing the true parentage of your child would destroy the family i already have. and right now, they are my main focus.Ā
take care. and good luck.Ā
william wood.
the note is left on the doorstep of chloe alpinās new apartment, but it isnāt chloe who finds it - instead, itās merrick wood, showing up to surprise with a housewarming gift and confused by the presence of her fathers handwriting on an envelope marked for one of her best friends.Ā
merrick takes a picture of it before leaving the envelope - and her gift basket full of goodies for the baby she didnāt know would be related to her - before putting it in the family group chat, a fire of anger burning through her as she storms through town.
the impending explosion leads to the truth - william wood, town doctor and husband to mayor of riverside, had an illicit affair with his daughters best friend over the summer. said affair led to the teenage pregnancy. within hours, the entire town seems to know the truth, and billy wood is seen unlocking the doors to his office with a duffel bag full of clothes, shutting the blinds behind him while a contractor is called out to the wood family home to fix the broken shattered glass of their back door, a dining room chair having been thrown through it.Ā
chloe, left alone in an apartment with a handful of cash and a letter, has had her biggest secret let out.Ā
merrick and holly, working through their own issues as it is, now have to contend with what this means for their family.Ā
and the town of riverside is going to have to choose sides - the mayor, or the doctor?Ā
the news will trickle out through the grapevine over the next 24 hours or so, but players can start discussing this as soon as they wish.Ā
if there are any questions, please feel free to send them our way !
