The wheels of the car clicked as it was wound up tightly, and once he was satisfied, Cy placed it on the ground, letting his grip on it go. It sped towards the wall with an explosive force, turning into a bird right before it crashed into the wall. He held his hand out, and the bird flew over to him, nestling in his hand and returning back to its original form.

He turned his head as someone walked in, but his vision was fuzzy and his movements painfully slow. His head spun whenever he moved it, but he managed to see the hand outstretched to him. Still gripping the car tightly in his other hand, he took the hand offered, almost tripping over the wooden blocks scattered around his feet.

As he was about to say something, an ear splitting scream tore through his thoughts, and looking down at the hand, he dropped it like a hot potato. It was contorting, the skin bubbling and popping with a sick, wet sound. He stood there, terrified, and watched as eyes rolled open on the hand, staring at him. A bird’s beak ripped through the skin, letting loose a screech that grated against his ears.

Startled, he took a step back, falling over an alphabet block and landing on his backside, dropping the car. He attempted to scramble to his feet with his head still reeling, hands knocking against the toys on the floor as he tried get up. They morphed into toy monkeys with cymbals, and without even winding them up, the harsh noise of multiple cymbals crashing together began to fill the room, acting as a sick instrumental to the screaming hand and cries of the figure standing in his room.

“It’s your fault. Why would you attempt transmutation on a human?! Turn it back! Give me my hand back! Give it back!”

He shook his head no, hands shaking at his side. I didn’t want to do it. I can’t turn it back. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.

His breath hitched as the hand lunged forward and the beak dug into his throat.
