Along the Monon

I will now finish out a series of three posts of images made along the former Monon Railroad, as I was driving northward through Indiana back in June of 2018.

The first shot was made (looking north) at milepost 176, a couple miles north of Greencastle, Indiana. The next couple shows a northbound train at milepost 141, Cherry Grove. And the final two images were made near milepost 137 at Linden (with same train).

The former Monon is but a shell of its former self: it has been abandoned from Cloverdale to New Albany, in addition to most of the branch from Monon to Michigan City along with nearly the entire branch from Monon to Indianapolis.
