Researchers led by @usgs scientist Vicki Blazer dissect smallmouth bass on the shore of the Shenandoah River in Front Royal, Va., on Sept. 29. The team is studying the high prevalence of intersex fish in the region, caused by chemical pollutants from developed areas and agriculture that mimic sex hormones.
