Yes! I love the nostalgia rides and hopefully someday I'll be able to get on one of them!

For the unacquainted, the New York Transit Museum pulls out some of their old rolling stock for special events and the public gets to ride in the old cars. I'll hopefully be able to do it this year - maybe I'll even dress for the occasion, since I do wear a lot of vintage-esque clothes when I'm not dressing like a railway employee.

The outfits Ingo and Emmet have are more 19th century - I can go into detail on that in its own post once I've got both of them (I have to wait until next week for Emmet's scout to go live) - and the vintage fleet is 20th century, but now you've got me wanting to draw them in historical clothing for the right era (30s-40s)...

Powerful weapons indeed—in the right hands. Young Takao Kinomiya has bested both Optimus Prime and Megatron alike using his! It was quite a surprise to see Dragoon stand up to the power of the Golden Age. The more cynical amongst World Fighters' viewers levelled accusations of match-fixing at Mujoe, who had something of a reputation for chasing ratings. However, I would hate to detract from Takao's achievement—he's an inspiration for countless human children. It's not every day that a ten-year-old gets the better of the Emperor of Destruction! Although, come to think of it, that does happen surprisingly often...

I've always found Ingo and Emmet's english names to be lacking compared to their other ones, especially given the potential in the NYC subway. Like what if they had names that were puns on the IRT and IND? Or if their names were based on "uptown" and "downtown," since that's the subway's version of "up-train" and "down-train," their japanese names. What do you think?

Hi! I'm surprised they didn't do something like this, actually, but I don't know if people outside of the NYC area (or train people) would know IRT/BMT/IND (the three companies that merged into the modern NYC Subway).

Doing something with uptown or downtown would make more sense since that's how we state direction in Manhattan specifically - but I think they went with the names they did because a) they're real names that real people can have and b) it's a bit harder to come up with actual names based on the words uptown and downtown.

There's a lot of options that they could have gone with, basically, but those options would have likely required more knowledge of the NYC Subway than most average people have, especially since they had these names for the entire English-language market, not just for New Yorkers specifically. And commuter rail like NJ Transit, Metro North, and the LIRR does use the terms "inbound" and "outbound," so more people would likely be familiar with that. That's my guess as to their reasoning, at least!
