Tire Trouble|Grester

A dumb grin spread against Chester's lips as he continued to stare at the long legged girl that still wore black heels despite her height. She towered over the Principle, who had to look up at her to speak. Hadn't seen her face yet, but what he did take notice of, he liked.

His jaw clenched as the Mrs. Jacobs swept her hand across the football field, saying words that Chester couldn't quite read, but his focus was quickly averted back to the beautiful woman that was by her side, as her brown eyes met his, he only then realized that he was staring. He gave an embarrassed smile as his cheeks turned a bright pink, but they couldn't tell from the distance they were from each other. She returned the smile with one of her own, setting off a chain reaction of both nausea and warmth in the pit of his stomach.

He went back to his job, couching a misfit team of players that were struggling through a set of drills. He understood though, it was the first summer practice of the season. School wasn't officially in session for another month, but Chester had to admit to being a perfectionist. He wanted the team to be the best that it could be.

Crossing his arms over his chest, he started to shout out at the players, he wanted them to try their best, even if they were being a little sluggish. "Jessie, Come on, pick up your knees!" he called in a stern voice as he kept a sly eye on the woman that accompanied Mrs. Jacobs. He wanted to hear her speak, he needed to hear her speak.

A sharp thump in the side of his head caused him to move it to the side as a dull ache filled his temple. He sent a glare towards one of the players as the football rolled to a stop. A few of them held in chuckles, but he didn't notice. All he could hear was a slight ringing in his head and the soft giggle of the girl with the great legs, and the beautiful smile.

He sat back in the leather chair, letting his legs take a break from the long day at the fields. He felt like he was getting too old for this, even though he was in his late twenties. He needed to stop staying out and drinking with his friends so much before practices, and the dull pain in his temple refused to subside as the yellowed light of the desk lamp strained his eyes. The school year hadn't even officially started and he already had a lot of paperwork.

All to prepare for a trip that probably wouldn't happen if he couldn't shape the group up. Chester let out a rough sigh as he stood; he needed to change before he went to drop off a few things at his mother's house. He liked being close to her, even when he was growing older. He started to exit his office as he went into the slightly cooler locker room. He slid off his sweat soaked t-shirt and slid on a fresh one with the schools Timberwolves logo on it.

The school was growing dark as he walked through and began to shut the lights off as he went. His footfalls echoed against the lockers as he neared the door for the student parking lot. His guard immediately going up as he realized that he wasn't quite alone. The school was empty, but the lot wasn't.

He smiled to himself slightly as he realized that long legs was kneeling on the ground, black blazer set to the side as she struggled to twist the lug nuts off of a quickly deflating tire. Her arms were defined as her muscles showed themselves; she let out a growl as the screw refused to budge. Chester wanted to offer his help, but needed to approach it in a way that wouldn't scare her. It was growing dark, and they were the only two in the large parking lot.

He was walking closer to her, she hadn't noticed that he was behind her yet, he opened his mouth to speak, but she did first as she whipped around, slamming the wrench into the side of his head, he retreated as a long line of warmth covered his cheek.

"Holy shit," She stood up, breathing as she let the asphalt with a clatter. "I am so sorry, she stepped towards him "I didn't mean to... you know you can't sneak up on someone... you're bleeding," the words seemed to flow out of her mouth awkwardly as she tried to gain her composure.

I pressed the base of my palm to the stinging wound, but couldn't help to smile as she stumbled through her sentences, worry covering her features. "It's okay," I defended quickly "I'm fine, just a little blood,"

"Oh god," she mumbled "this is a lawsuit waiting to happen," moved her arms over her chest, cupping her opposite elbows with her hands awkwardly. "It's not even my first day and I gave the football coach a concussion."

"You didn't hit me that hard," he said in a soft voice, trying to comfort the distressed woman. "I'm fine, really" She still looked upset so he looked around the parking lot for a moment, he got a an idea quickly as he set both feet evenly on a white painted line, he started to walk it easily "See, I pass the drunk test."

This earned a small smile

"I'm not sure if it's the same for a concussion, but it's pretty impressive if you ask me," he smirked scratching the back of his neck. Something about this girl made him act like a fool. Usually he was cocky when it came to woman, he always got them. He always tried too hard, but not around this one.

"I'm Chester," He smiled, choosing the non-bloodied hand to stick out. She smiled even wider.

"I'm Grace," She told him, sticking her palm in his, he shuddered internally, he had never felt a strong warmth from touching a girl in the slightest way. Granted, he hadn't felt this way about a girl in a while.

"You need some help with your tire?" he asked, knitting his eyebrows together in question.

"I'd love that," she told him.

He knew that this would be a long year.
