5. What’s their relationship with their parents like? What about other relatives?

Onyx

Onyx is pretty close with xyr parents! Close enough to be okay with living with them during xyr second year of uni. They’re both very supportive of xem and give xem space when need be, since Onyx isn’t the type of person to enthusiastically join a family gathering or anything of the sort, xe prefers to do xyr own thing. That’s not to say Onyx isn’t comfortable with the occasional family game night and whatnot, though. Xe likes making xyr parents laugh with xyr weird gen z memes that neither of them fully understand.

Both xyr parents are proud of Onyx academically too; xe is very intelligent despite appearing to be slacking half the time. Onyx is often embarrassed on Facebook by xyr mother in particular, who loves to post xyr grades for everyone to see, but xe knows she only does it out of love, so xe doesn’t protest. Besides, someone has to boast about xyr grades, since xe never seems to do it.

Sopheary

Sopheary wouldn't describe herself as being particularly close to her parents, but they absolutely adore her and are so proud of everything she has achieved. They think she pushes herself a bit too hard in regards to her studying etc, whereas Sopheary thinks they don't quite encourage her as much as they should. In reality they can recognise gifted child syndrome when they see it and they don't want to worsen it.

She likes going home between semesters and staying with her parents and younger sibling, but she does miss the peacefulness that comes with having moved out.

Sopheary is close to her other relatives simply because she adores the attention they give her at family events. She makes sure to stay in contact with aunts and uncles so they are up to date on all of her achievements and have new things to congratulate her about whenever they see her. She also likes knowing that they pass news of her greatness on to her less academically minded cousins.

12. How old are they? When is their birthday?

Onyx

Onyx is currently 19, nearing 20 on February 1st, so xe will be turning 20 at some point in the story!

Sopheary

Sopheary is twenty and so proud of that fact; the minute she stopped being a teenager, she became incredibly smug. Her birthday is September 24th, and she was always gloating about being that kid who had one of the first birthdays of the school year.

30 Day OTP+ Alphabet Challenge

1. A - Age. Do the otp+ plan on spending their lives together? How do they imagine their relationship years from now?

For today's prompt, I wrote a little something and I really hope you like it  ♡ - Mod Gemini

Sopheary cocked her to the side, smiling as she took in the sight in front of her. Onyx was lying on xyr stomach on the floor, with xyr tongue sticking out of xyr mouth ever so slightly. Xe had found an old notebook of Sopheary's and commandeered it to do some drawing. The book was A3, and far too big for Sopheary to carry around with her and so not very good for making notes, so she'd let xem take it without much of a fuss, but xe had refused to tell her why xe wanted it. And, as she watched xem concentrate so fiercely on the page in front of xem, she couldn't bring herself to coax it out of xem.

'You look cute when you focus like that,' she said, curling up into the corner of the couch. She rested her chin in her hand and continued to watch xem. 'But you need to get a new pencil.'

The one xe was holding was barely more than a stub, and Sopheary winced even just thinking of how badly her hands would cramp if she was the one holding it. Xe didn't respond, presumably too busy focusing. 

Sopheary groaned. 'Onny, I'm serious. There is nothing left of that one.' Xe ignored her once again. She rolled her eyes and stood up, ready to get Onyx one of her many perfectly sharpened pencils, when she felt a hand tapping her on the leg. 

'Babe, stay,' Onyx said, not even looking up. Xe was still drawing with xyr other hand. 'Join me.' Xe shuffled across the floor, leaving enough space for Sopheary to lie beside xem, between xem and the couch. 

'You want me to lie on the floor?' Sopheary's gaze flickered to the carpet. It was perfectly clean; she had hoovered it just last night, and she was only in her loungewear after all, but she wasn't the type to sit on the floor when a perfectly good couch was available. 

'Then you can see what I'm drawing,' said Onyx, kicking xyr feet in their air. 'But if you don't want to see-' 

Sopheary all but dived onto the floor and peered over Onyx's shoulder. Xe giggled and grabbed the notebook, holding it close to xyr chest so the drawing was no longer visible. 'Somebody's eager!'

'You've been at it for ages; of course I'm eager.' Sopheary pouted and lay down on her side, facing Onyx. 'I'm on the floor for you and you won't even show me what you're doing.'

With a small smile, Onyx lay the notebook back on the floor. 'Of course I'll show you, silly.' 

The lines on the book's pages hadn't stifled xyr drawing ability even slightly, for a clearly recognisable drawing of the two of them could be seen. Sopheary looked closer at it.

They were sitting on a bench, staring at each other with smiles on their faces. Reaching out a tentative finger, Sopheary lightly stroked the part of the drawing depicting her. 'Onyx, it's amazing.' 

'I'm glad you think so.' Onyx shifted closer towards her. 'But you're not going to comment on anything?'

Sopheary squinted, trying to figure out what xe meant. The drawing was perfect; the two of them looked so happy, and so lifelike considering xe had been drawing for only twenty or so minutes, that there was nothing unusual to comment on. 

Though, now that she was scrutinizing it, she did notice a few wrinkles around her eyes and lips. And even her hairline looked a little different. Onyx's face was similarly inaccurate. Sopheary lifted her finger off the page and touched the area around her eyes, lightly stroking her skin to check there was no such wrinkles. 

'You don't have them now,' murmured Onyx, xyr voice soft in Sopheary's ear. 'It's just… an impression. When we're older and we do look different, and are maybe a bit wrinkly or saggy or who knows what else, whatever way our bodies change, I want us to still be sitting on benches together. To still be in love just like we are now.'

'You want to grow old together?' asked Sopheary, her face breaking into a smile as she continued to stare at the drawing. 

'Of course I do. And I want us to get older than we are in this sketch so you can point out everything I got wrong in it.'

'I would never!' Sopheary pulled away from Onyx, her eyebrows raised. 

'Sure.' Onyx grinned. 'But in fifteen years, I'll remind you of that claim when you say 'Oh Onyx, I never did get crow's feet' or 'Oh Onyx, I-'' Xe was cut off with a set of lips touching xyr own, as Sopheary pulled xem in close for a kiss.
