Chicago Harbor Light

I was recently in Chicago for a tech scout and the weather was hitting pretty magically. I took the same shot on slide film but it's not on as long of a lens so the composition is a bit different.

The pink tones shimmering off of the relatively smooth water made zooming in to appreciate the details a treat.

Chicago Lighthouse works with and employs people who are blind or visually impaired. Its sister agency, Chicago Lighthouse Industries, has been making clocks since 1977.

As part of a federal contract, it supplies clocks to federal agencies, U.S. embassies and military operations. The clocks also are sold to schools, on Amazon and in Lighthouse’s gift shop, among other places.

In August, Target started selling the clocks — a big get for a social services organization that puts most of the revenue from the clocks toward its programming.
