He told them he just wanted their money, but he ended up assaulting and killing eight of them. One survived and because of her testimony he went to prison for life. #ChicagoCrimeTime 5: Between 1972 and 1978 John Wayne Gacy tortured and killed 33 mostly teenage boys and hid their bodies in the crawl space under his house. #ChicagoCrimeTime 4: This theater was where FBI agents led by Melvin Purvis waited for bank robber John Dillinger. When Dillinger- who was betrayed by a friend- left the theater and saw Purvis light his cigar as signal, he panicked and tried to flee down the alley next to the theater. It was closed off.
