Order of birth: Wolf, Tiger, Bear (because them coming out looking less and less like their mother or anyone in the poly is funny)

Tiger was named because orange and stripey. She is the leader of the three

Wolf was named because grey

and Bear was named because brown and big! She's the youngest and shyest, but by far the biggest

idea: what if instead of actually dying, wolfkit and tigerkit get lost in the sward and are just presumed dead?

I was thinking that, as apprentices, the three snuck away for yet another adventure. It's the usual routine at first, Tiger and Wolf eager to explore, Bear scared but still tagging along.

But something goes wrong. They go somewhere and it feels...off. Bearpaw doesn't want to keep going and decides to wait for them. They promise to be back soon and to give her anything cool they find.

She waits...

and waits...

and waits...

She doesn't want to leave where she is in case they come back, though her brain screams at her to get her parents. Eventually they find her and demand why she was gone so long and where the others are...

Bearpaw and them soon believe that their kits are dead, because they cannot find them

OR

similar build-up but danger happens. Wolf and Tiger wail for help, but Bear is frozen in fear, curled in a ball.

Either way, Bear feels immense guilt, but with the latter situation that guilt is 10x worse because she just laid there when her siblings (presumably) died

I like the idea that they go missing in an area that's not The Sward, but still dangerous, like the Timeless Woods or Dancing Forest

thinking of name ideas for the trio….

Tiger is leader-like and likes charging head-first in situations

Wolf likes adventure and following Tiger’s lead. He also likes “howling” because he thinks it’s cool

Bear is huge but very soft and shy. She doesn’t like adventures as much but doesn’t like being without her siblings so she’s usually dragged along (Tiger is usually too excited or in her own head to notice, but Wolf pays attention and always makes sure his sister is comfortable)

but I also have the angst thought that two of them don’t make it…

I think Chickadeethaw would name her kits after big predators since she ate a cat

I'm thinking something like Wolfkit, Tigerkit, Bearkit, and Eaglekit

Ok so Chickadeethaw and Weedfoot were chosen as the two cats we can slap together to make kits, and I see three possibilities here

1 ) Weedfoot is one of the unnamed cats in Chickadee and Soot's poly

2 ) Chickadeethaw got with Weedfoot right before getting into a relationship with the others and the fact she was pregnant was a surprise for them all

3 ) some cheating happened... (it is the DF after all, bad things will still be done)
