In case you didn't already know, we call that “cheeping.” During this very important time of your chicks' lives, if they are cheeping very loudly, you're might not be sure exactly what the problem is or why they seem distressed. All you know is you're not really sure what to do about it.

My fluffy lil Vorwerk babies have gotten so big 🥺

6 of the eight eggs have hatched now, two were quitters, and I sadly lost one of the barnevelders- as it goes with raising chicks. I’ve now got two barnevelders and one black two lavender aracauna babies. They had some supervised time in the sun today, had their first ever dust baths, got stuck in some bushes and one tried to fight an adult rooster.

The first chick has hatched! (Egg/Chick B, currently awaiting a name)

I might end up having to raise these chicks inside...Elsie (mama hen) doesn't appreciate my interference, but I always handle my chicks to ensure they're socialable and nice.

Day 6 of owning chicks

Currently outside with the chicks. They're having fun seeing the grass and the rest of the flock for the first time when suddenly, out of the blue, a bunch of guys with heavy machinery decide now's the perfect time to start demolishing things. It's so loud and my chicks are scared!
