#JackedKirby - Captain... Nice? 💥💥💥 Jack was firmly entrenched in the Marvel Bullpen in 1967, which was at the height of the creative collaboration between him and Stan Lee. They were cranking out dozens of books per month, most of which Jack was either laying out, doing full pencils or providing a cover for. But he always had time for ANOTHER project... and that’s where this beauty of a promo poster comes in! 💥💥💥 Captain Nice was a superhero TV show that ran on NBC on Monday nights. It told the story of unlikely hero Captain Nice, who was the alter ego of police chemist Carter Nash. Nash created a super serum that granted him Superman like powers (Flight, Super Strength, Agility) and allowed him to fight crime. The show was created as a response to the popularity of Batman ‘66 and Mr. Terrific, two shows that had garnered great ratings and inspired other networks to try their hand at Super Hero programming. 💥💥💥 The titular character was portrayed by actor William Daniels, who would go on to provide the voice for Michael Knight’s car KITT in the KnightRider and play the beloved principal Mr Feeney on Boy Meets World!!! 💥💥💥 Jack created this promotional poster featuring the main character facing many threats high in the sky above the city... you can see a cool Kirby robot, some great tech on the villains (look at those rocket shoes!!!), and a flying circular vehicle all threatening the hero as he is the center of attention!!! This is probably much more action packed then the actual show! The poster is inked by Chic Stone, and this was created in 1967... a pretty cool piece of promo art that I had never seen... so now I’ve shared it with all of YOU!!! Long live the King!!! 💥💥💥 #JackKirby #KingKirby #Kirby #ChicStone #CaptainNice #NBC #60sTVShows #TVShows #PromoPoster #Comic #Comics #ComicBook #ComicBooks https://www.instagram.com/p/BtRTzZghL6m/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1lq8li7a2cznk
