Differences between CHI flat irons

So I have owned a CHI flat iron for like 8 years and its been amazing.

Tragically the other day I tripped over the cord and it went down hard on the tile floor. I cant get it to come back on, so RIP!

Since I bought my original CHI, I noticed that they make a ton of different versions now. Not sure if I should just get the OG one again, or I should break outside and check out the newer versions. The newer versions seem like they have some nice updated features like adjustable temps. 

I read this Article comparing the CHI, vs, CHI AIR, and CHI G2. Wondering if the Air is really that much better than the old one since it seems like its really hard to make one better than the original one! 

Has anyone else bought the G2 or the CHI air after buying the CHI and preferred one of the others? HALP cause I need some tips before I pull the trigger on ordering a new one that I wont be able to send back!
