“Quit smiling at me, I can’t stop messing up my sentences when you look at me like that.”
I’m going to go with my OTP for this one since I can just imagine them doing this~~
“But then Feyre was all, “But I have a promise to keep” and Tamlin like, ya know gave her that look, ya know? Like the,” Lucy tries her best to impersonate the dark brooding man as he regarded the other character in her book. “Ya know? Like the oh-wow-i-didn’t-know-you-had-a-lot-of-layers-so-I’m-intrigued-because-you’re-human-and-all kind of look.”
Lucy quickly lifted her drink, stuffing its straw in her mouth. Her foot tapped erratically beneath the wire patio table outside the local breakfast hub Natsu had invited her to this morning. Her brain was flying faster than her mouth could process leaving her in a rambling heap of excitement and joy as she recounted the most recent events in her book.
Natsu hadn’t dared a word so far, favoring instead to watch her go on and on about, what seemed like, one of her favorite books. He stared at her as she continued explaining her story. The words melded into the background when the sun finally decided to poke its head out from behind the clouds.
Its golden rays shimmered down on her and seemed to focus on her in particular, leaving everyone around them in shadow. It shone on the strands of deep gold in her hair, shimmering in a way that could only remind him of the ingot itself. It flashed in her already sparkling chocolate eyes, already alight with wonder as she recounted the most recent events of her book. He couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face at the sight. He couldn’t help falling for her more and more each day.
“A-and then…Wh-Why are you looking like that at- I mean why are you smiling at me like…that?” she stumbled, her thoughts coming back to earth. Her cheeks took on a subtle shade of pink and her heart skipped. How did he manage to do this to her every time?
His smile grew, morphing into a somewhat mischievous, toothy grin.
“I can’t help it,” he confessed. “I love watching you talk about something you love. I like to see you happy.”
Lucy’s blush deepened and she couldn’t hold his soft gaze any longer. Her fingers twisted a loose strand of hair.
“U-um well, an-anyway,” she tried to continue. “So then he um…I mean she-she saw her family-no wait that was before…”
Her eyes kept shifting to his face, bright and happy, as he continued to watch her. Her heart leaped again.
“Would you quit smiling at me? I can’t stop smile- I mean messing up my sentences when you look at me like that.”
Thanks dude! I kind of went a bit farther than I thought but hey. :3
