Walk around the Veera Narayana Temple and marvel at its jaw-dropping architecture!
Located in Belavadi, Veera Narayana Temple is truly a hidden gem of Chikmagalur, Karnataka. Known for its magnificent architecture, the awe-inspiring Veera Narayan Temple is one of the largest temples built by the Hoysala kings.
This is a Vaishnava temple, and all three shrines houses the images of Lord Vishnu but in three different avatars - Narayana with four hands, Venugopala (Lord Krishna playing the flute) including a garuda pedestal, and Yoga Narasimha, sitting in a yoga posture.
The most unique feature of this temple is that every year on 23rd March (Equinox), the morning rays of the sun fall directly on the Garbhagriha from the entrance door which is at a whopping distance of 270 feet.
