Lost and Scared (AU: Open Starter)
It wasn’t Summer’s fault!
A Seven year old child was curious enough, let alone one which had a set of kitten-teeth in sharpness with enough Hobgoblin instinct to check every little moving thing around her out. Let’s not forget to mention nibblin things she found curious or potentially edible in her eyes. Again, this was a hobgoblin’s trait which would be curbed as she became older. A child’s harness and leash dragged behind her, the leather seeming as though a puppy chewed at it long enough to sever. This is actually how she became free. You see, there was this store she often liked to stare at due to the neon lights and well, toys! Though she could never get Natalie to go inside, as getting Summer out of the store often required a financially crippling purchase of a ton of toys, Summer still loved to look into windows. Floppy ears perked up as tiny hands pressed into the glass, breath visible as it fogged on the glass, large fluffy tail flickering from side to side the best it could, granted it looked more like a huge dirty cotton ball than a tail. (even if it was abeit longer than a cotton ball, considerably. Summer had a strange amount of puppy fluff.) Summer felt excited enough to headbutt the glass with the small yet somewhat noticeable red and green nubs. Again, these were things she’d hide once she became older.“Nat, I wanna go in! Can we go in?” Though, no answer came. That was okay! Her caretaker often was lost in thoughts.
“Nat!” Summer squeaked, turning instantly around to attempt pulling at the white jacket Summer remembered Natalie wearing, only to find nobody she recognized. The lost look came over her features as oceans of people moved past. A man (seeing a lost and frightened child and therefore had the mindset to take her to the nearest police station.) had approached Summer with intentions of kindness, but she panicked. What, do you ask, did Summer do in this panic?
She ran away from him, ducking between people while tail fluffed with fright. Summer spotted a woman with a white coat, and started dashing for her. The chase went on for a few blocks before Summer realized this wasn’t her caretaker either. She spun in a soft circle, backing herself into the wall of a building to seek some kind of security. However, Summer collided with someone. Panicked chirping escaped her before she yelped, “I’m sorry!”
