How to celebrate your 45th birthday when you're single: 1) Go see Unsane with Child Bite at the Grog shop. Reflect internally on your many years of going to see Unsane and the impact the Grog has had on your life when you turn 45 at midnight. This is an internal monologue since you've gone out alone again on the eve of your birthday. 2) On the morning of your birthday, take your puppy to the vet to get spayed. 3) Return home to 4 cups of coffee and review the Esquire black book of style while listening to The Cure Acoustic Hits album. Reflect on your achievements, failures and the fact that you've been single for a long fucking time. 4) Go to Yuzu because it's lunch time and none of your friends like to eat there, so going alone means you don't get out voted. Have a very large (poorly chilled) vodka martini, a bowl of ramen and 6 beers until the Vet calls to tell you the dog is finished with her surgery. 5) Pick up puppy from Vet, stop at taco bell and get 12 tacos. 6) give puppy drugs (prescribed!), decide not to eat puppy's pain pills, crash out at 9:30pm. 7) Dream about how great your 46th birthday is going to be.
