During a rainy day, children at our daycare Auckland centre enjoyed a variety of activities including block building, Lego play, painting, colouring, and imaginative role play. These activities encouraged children to think creatively, solve problems, and develop independence while having fun.
Group activities such as singing and dancing during mat time helped children improve confidence, communication, and leadership skills. Children also learned the importance of sharing, cooperation, and building friendships through collaborative play.
As part of our Matariki learning, children created a colourful Pōhutukawa tree display and participated in the Tupuānuku activity, where they explored vegetables and foods that grow from the earth. These experiences helped children understand nature, culture, and the value of working together.
