A small child appears before Cecil, holding up a dried wilting violet flower. Pulling their bottom lip back to reveal the words nearly tattooed "you'll be okay. Cheer up!"

A small child, bare footed and in torn and thin clothing walked down the dark street. The night air was cool and crisp and the moon was full. They stopped and stared when they saw another person, staring at him with a blank stare, head tilted to the side almost expectantly.

Roger shouldn’t have left the home so late. He wanted to catch the dinner for him and dad, but just couldn’t find the right prey. So not only as he coming back home past his bed time, but he was empty-handed because he kept trying for too long.

And now there was a weird child staring at him. This was exactly why he hated walking alone after dark.

He waited for the child to speak up, hoping their intention was not ill.

"........." A small child appeared in the room staring vacantly at the wall.

Toby jumped, almost falling off his bed.

Carlos wasn’t sure what to think when he saw the kid. They were all on their own from what Carlos could see, and that was not good. The world was a dangerous place after all, and the thought of leaving a child on their own didn’t sit right with him.

“Hello,” he greeted cautiously, head tipping to the side. “My name is Carlos. What’s your name?”
