Wait, how is the bully a threat to frisk? Even without chara, a monster is 1000 times weaker than a human, and they use magic to attack rather than physical force. And even without chara, frisk still has the ability to SAVE, and by extension CONTINUE (or load) meaning they'd still be able to manipulate time, albeit to a lesser degree. Couldn't they just go back to their last save point and avoid the bullies?

I always wondered why they never tried booby-trapping a save point, so that after you save a cage drops over you.
In this case, the explanation is pretty simple: none of them can see save points to begin with. Can’t booby trap something you can’t even see lol
I know I’ve used the save points as visuals when characters reference the power of saving and resetting, but that’s purely a visual thing.

He’s a plant. Plants can survive being cut. Plus, he got Determination that keeps him alive as well
Something else bothers me about this scene. Frisk says "not again" which implies this has happened before. Yet Monster Teen and purple wing act surprised by Thios' actions, as if this is the first time Thios has acted like this. If this has happened before, why would they assist him a second time? They don't seem to support his behavior.
Monster Teen and Hollow were surprised of Theis being “too violent”. They usually have fun teasing Frisk, it wasn’t the first time. However, this time was kinda different...
