A powerful day of celebration and illumination is upon you today, for today is the Summer Solstice. For one 24-hour cycle out of the year you are afforded the longest day of the year, this ensures you have more light shining down today for a longer period of time than on any other day of the year, do not squander this gift, the light is here with great purpose, the Summer Solstice being the longest day of the year offers you a greater opportunity for awareness. This solstice also ushers in a new season as the Wheel of the Year turns to summer. Bright light, summer, community and celebrations, Summer Solstice is such an invigorating and extroverted day that it is easy to forget or to neglect the deeper messages and portals that are open on this day. The Winter Solstice may seem like the time to go inward, to face demons and to listen to the inner still voice while the Summer Solstice a time for play and merriment, and though play and merriment are on their way, it is this day, in actuality, that offers the greatest chance to see furthest both internally and externally thanks to the increase of light. Thus, this is the day to illuminate that which has been hidden in the shadows. The summer season is a season of balancing work and pleasure, caring for and being cared for, play and purpose, this solstice reflects the need for balance that the summer calls for by balancing the power of light through inviting it into the dark. It is on the Summer Solstice when the fires of illumination come to burn away your impurities, your illusions, your sticky karma.
