“What can you even do with such...beautiful hands? You’re absolutely not fit to be a knight!”

Lynette’s words stung her. To many who knew her, she was just a simply errand girl tasked to do work not suited for a knight. Nobody knew, nobody even suspected that she too was as much a knight as the likes of Lancelot, Gawain, or Mordred.

No, to them, she was just an errand girl, meant to serve in the kitchen.

But she would persevere. She would show them that she too was a proud knight. Actions do speak louder than words after all.

Though Illya had never spoken a word to Gareth, at the very least she knew something about her. And to her, nothing was more inspiring than proving people wrong, especially with actions. She certainly felt a connection to the knight’s story, given how others at Chaldea view her.

Maybe she too can be like Sir Gareth. A knight who did not let such views sway her, adamant and true of heart, Gareth was in Illya’s eyes one of the finest knights she had ever seen.

“I suppose falls do tend to look pretty bad.” He offered a hand gloved in black armor to the other, then examined him carefully as he pulled him to his feet. In his concern, the boy’s stare completely flew over his head. Almost like a mother hen, he looked first to the other’s knees, then his hands and face, searching for scrapes or sprains. “I am just glad that you are uninjured and did not break anything.” He offered a rag from within his tassets, that the boy could clean himself up, and smiled warmly. 

“Ah yes. I am called Munechika’s Crescent Moon... Mikazuki Munechika.” Sometimes, he wondered if the artistic nature of the name was painfully obvious--it all but shouted from his clothes, emblazoned upon chest and sleeves with glistening golden crescents, his sheath, painted with moons in the shining lacquer, and set in his eyes themselves: a gathering blue like the dusk and golden with a rising moon. “It is a pleasure to meet you, my Lord. And if I might be honored with your name?”

“Kishinami-kun.” Approaching the boy, Julius’ face was rather more... softer then normal. As if there was some form of sharpness that at this moment had been covered, removed even. Sitting next to him, Julius took a moment to mull over his words, nodding finally when a connection was made in his head. 

“.... why did you cry for me? A creature like myself who had done so much to you was mourned by you as I fell away. Why?” There were of course many theories in his head, but it was better to clarify them now.

Honestly, lemme just say some people’s themes suck. no one in particular but i’ve come across some ugly ass themes were i cant see shit and while it’s was aethestic it so hard just to go to page two.

      He simply wanted to live on. He did not want to die. He did not want to die in such pain. He did not want to die meaninglessly. It was far cry from something beautiful like the wish of creating a utopia with their hands but still the Heroic Spirit who heard the prayers of the boy’s heart acknowledged it. He acknowledged the boy’s will that allowed him to scream out against fear and despair, against the cold and pain to stand on his own feet in defiance of the effigy that would have his life. Such spirit---it would be shameful for him to turn his back on it.

     “Very well said. When men come to do battle then a stout heart is far better for him then the keenest blade! You,of stout heart that strives against despair and fate itself - I, the lord of all such noble souls will lend you my strength!”  The powerful voice seemed to split the area and for a moment it truly did split and from behind the effigy that scar split open to reveal a sea of flames and a large steed---and the majestic man who rode atop it. That thing that appeared to be flames was the galloping steed entangled by escaping power. But the effigy, who kept all it’s attention on Hakuno, did not even have time to turn around and register what was happening.

 Accompanying Rider’s war cry, the mighty steed crashed into the creature, and then trampled it’s body mercilessly with it hooves. Each hoof was enveloped with scarlet flame; just one kick would have been an extremely heavy hit but all the steed’s four hooves tore apart and trampled the enemy across the platform upon which they stood until not even a trace of it’s ashes remained.

     “As I thought---you were pathetic and not even worthy of receiving the edge of my blade.” With the enemy dead, the horse slowed it’s pace, going around the boy once in a full circle so the man could scrutinize Hakuno with his ice cold gaze before coming to a stop. Creasing his brow, he leaps from the steed and stands towering over the boy.

     “Hmm. Now that I look at you I see I’ve been called by an odd one. You spoke with such strength mere moments ago so why do you have the confused look of an unworthy fool now? Are you not my Master?”

“Getting improper sleep can be very bad for your health, Hakuno!” She stood a little taller to address him properly. Like with any Master, Mashu was always concerned for their health. After all, if they weren’t doing their best, then they wouldn’t be able to command their Servants.

“Please, try to get at least 8 hours or more every night. I could even see if Dr. Roman has some sleep medicine you could take to assist in getting drowsy.”

hi cait! thanks for the question.

ailill and hakuno? admittedly one of the most laid-back bond there is. it’s the kind of relationship wherein ailill is more than allowed to be himself, that he never has to worry about coming off as an unworthy or undeserving servant. other than that, i’d also like to point a whole lot more concerning the interactions they’ve had so far:

 ailill as a servant is naturally protective of his master out of duty. however, when it comes to hakuno he’s just the right amount of that. he doesn’t feel the need to suffocate hakuno with his presence because he believes in hakuno as his master. 

although hakuno is said and often described and accepted as someone with no exceptional qualities, ailill never once made hakuno feel as if he is in need of a different or better master at all.

out of ailill’s masters, hakuno is the only one who’s seen and interacted with ailill’s bull finnbhennach. more often than not ailill keeps him hidden after all.

there’s just enough faith to go by. hakuno gives ailill the right to decide what’s good for them because obviously he would know better about the war and the entire battlefield than hakuno does. in return, hakuno makes it clear to ailill that having emotions is normal and acceptable. 

additionally, he does not think of ailill as cold due to him being unable to feel fear. hakuno also doesn’t demean him for his selflessness. which is a big thing for his character since his entire lore revolved around him being persecuted for his fearlessness and devotion to medb.

not to mention, hakuno is the type of person that would wholeheartedly acknowledge that ailill is someone who’s done bad things in life but wouldn’t deny that he has a good side as well. that his circumstances shoved him into an irredeemable point. hakuno makes him remember that he’s beyond the things he has and hasn’t done.
