China Sourcing Guidelines - How to Verify a Manufacturer
The increasing pace of Chinese Manufacturing Industries in the overseas market has opened doors to many profits as well as fraudulent business. The rules and regulations for importing from China are quite different from western countries. Also, due to the differences in cultures and laws, the risk of such cases increases even more. Here are some guidelines on how you can verify a manufacturer while importing from China.
1. Do some Background Check- Overseas Manufacturers usually tell lies about their size, ownership, units etc. So, background check becomes mandatory to ensure the authenticity of the supplier. It includes checking websites, phone numbers, emails etc.
2. Ask for References- Always ask for customer references from potential suppliers. You could talk to two or three customers to verify the services, strength, and weakness of the supplier.
3. Legal Verification- If you feel satisfied after the above two steps then you can ask for legal documents of the supplier for verification. Make sure to properly check the documents.
4. Factory/Office Visits- If you are going for big investments then making factory visits become important as to check manufacturing capacity and quality of the supplier. Also, this will ensure the timely delivery of your goods.
5. Face to Face Meetings- This is the final step before selecting your China sourcing supplier. If you feel assured in the above steps then you can ask for a face to face meeting directly with your China Sources Supplier.
