My most ambitious painting to date, and it seems to have taken forever to complete. But now it’s done and I want to stare at something else for a while! The scariest part is coming up as I have to ‘oil out’ the painting and there are so many different recipes out there for oiling out that it’s hard to know which to choose. I’ll let you know how it goes... 5’x5’ oil on canvas of the Chiostrino dei Voti in Santissima Annunziata in Florence, the small glass ceilinged atrium before you enter the church, with each pane of glass etched with the fleur de lys of Florence and the ‘S’ of the Servite order who founded it in 1250.
