Do you have this on ao3 or fanfiction

I do not! I have never considered putting it on ao3, to be honest, and right now I prefer to keep it blog-exclusive.

I might consider doing it in the future, but right now that is just too much of hassle for me since I do write fanfiction and have been trying to keep up with the projects I'm currently posting.

Who knows what the future holds, though. If I do post it on ao3, I'll be sure to post the link on the blog.

Once, there was an explosion

I admit, when mama started talking about the shared connection between twins, I was unimpressed, thinking it’s some cliched chatter to fill in the silence as we made our way to her sister. But then she started saying the connection she shared with her twin, the shared ‘beach’, inspired them to come up with the idea of the chiral network, of connecting everyone together, and then I realized she’s not just talking about the characters in the game, but about the players too, about us, about how we players share a connection, a shared locker, and that was beautiful and I was totally teary-eyed at that point.

Honestly, Death Stranding may have a strange gameplay that not everyone could easily connect with, but its message is important and beautiful and I feel so strongly about this game and how we are all connected there.

“How’s the fix up coming along?” Fragile asked Mama, holding two cups of coffee in each of her hands. When Mama caught her breath after dinking around with the computer programs, she graciously took the cup on Fragile’s left and chugged the coffee as if her life depended on it. Fragile smiled proudly at that, appreciating the energy Mama had for this sort of thing. She could have never done half the work on her own. 

“You’re back on the Chiral Network, but the reception is still weak. I’d say give it a day to fully recover, don’t be doing too many deliveries until then and you’re gold.” Mama said with a wink, drinking the rest and she sat the coffee mug down as Fragile carefully sipped from her own cup. 

“How much do I owe you?” Fragile asked as Mama waved her off. 

“Us women gotta stick together with the kind of jobs we run, so don’t worry about it. It’s no biggie.” Mama insisted. She honestly didn’t need the credits, and even if she did, there was no way she would have charged Fragile for the simple fix. Maybe a local horse's ass of a techie would do such a thing, but not her. Computers were second nature to Mama. She could read them better than she could most humans. 

“There must be something I can compensate you with.” Fragile said, furrowing her brows. Even though the offer was gracious, she had her standards when it came to owing others. Her father had drilled it into her head to always return the favor whenever someone went above and beyond to help. 

Mama grinned as she shook her head, then went up to Fragile and playfully booped her on the nose. It was her little way of letting the businesswoman know how much she appreciated the kind gesture. 

“I’m lost.” Fragile said with a laugh after the fact. 

“Don’t worry about it,” Mama shrugged as she sighed and picked up her coffee mug and handed it to Fragile. “But if you’re feeling up for it, I’d like another cup of joe before I hit the road back to my place.”

👑Your leader and deputy disappear into thin air, who takes over?

Well, most of the cats in the moon I've written up to are the originals, so there is an uncomplicated issue of seniority, and that would be Skypelt. She is the most senior warrior of Hyacinthclan after Yellowlily, and Yellowlily is getting on in years. So, due to her seniority and skills, Skypelt would likely just assume the role, and no one would object.

💔 Which cats have the most complicated relationship with each other?/make you go feral?

That would actually be Skypelt and Quietback, or Skypelt and Amberpaw! One is the result of the actual game play, one is more affected by how I've written the story.

I always forget to look at the relationship bars between non-related cats, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that Quietback has a massive crush on Skypelt (not a spoiler; I hinted at in my last moon). Not two cats I pegged would have romantic feelings with each other, considering she was a warrior when he was a kit, but low and behold, they're suckers for each other. This makes some things to come interesting. I can't detail more without any spoilers!

As for Skypelt and Amberpaw, she adopted him after his dad died, because she helped train and bring up Copsespots and Ashtalon and was Copsespots' mentor, and Amberpaw loves her. He never saw his mother, and Ashtalon died when he was little enough that he doesn't really remember him. Skypelt loves him too, but she believes Amberpaw is part of a prophecy and wants him to be the best warrior for the clan so he can fulfill it. She also is very physical in her affection for him, but Amberpaw has a sensitivity being touched that she ignores, which does cause a bit of tension between them.

🗺️ What does the territory look like? Any unique landmarks?

I will draw a map soon. 😿

The territories are on the edge of the sea, with rolling mountains/hills with few trees and forests, as well as cliffs. There (might) be a bog nearby. Hyacinthclan's territory has all those things in it, as they moved into the extra land no other clan wanted to touch, and their territory therefore is likely the biggest because of this.

The unique landmarks are The Beach of Stars in Hyacinthclan territory, which is sacred to them and any cat can use to try to communicate with Starclan. Since things went weird, it hasn't allowed this.

The Pool of Five Oakes is a pool surrounded by five massive oak trees, and this serves not only as the Starclan place for all the clans, and they use it for Gatherings as well because of its central location.

And the lighthouse. Called the Twoleg Stone Tree before Quietback and Skypelt went to investigate it, it was abandoned and shut until recently.

✍️ What inspired you to make your clangen comic/ other media?

All the other ClanGen comics here on Tumblr. I really liked them and then boom, Hyacinthclan came into my mind after a reading binge. I can't draw cats very well or really do digital art, but I can write and I love to write, so I thought a written one would stand out.

I've been told that apparently some of the situation is similar to Rain World, which I've heard of but knew nothing about, so I would say that there are definitely subconscious influences I haven't even realized yet.

⏩ How far ahead do you play in clangen? How far ahead do you draw/write?

Well, I actually started the story after I had played to I think Moon 38 or 39. I wanted the clan to be established before I started, so I started on Moon 27 with the writing and right now it's been a game of catch-up. I'll start moving the game forward again soon.

In the future, I think I'll play a handful of moons, write it out, and repeat, especially since the game actually has started to give me interesting events.

🌙 Heavy or light sleeper, what are their dreams like? For Amberleaf?

Depending on how much he has done during the day, Amber is typically a lighter sleeper! If he's worked hard, it's harder to rouse him, but he isn't *too* heavy or light of a sleeper.

BUT, if he is having a nightmare involving terrible things and so forth, as he shared with Yellowpaw in a previous moon, he isn't being woken up easily. He'll be nearly impossible to wake up, and wake up quite suddenly as well.These dreams will involve the ocean, prey with black leaking from their eyes, the limp shapes of cats floating in the water, and even waves of black and Mystery Entity as well. And, other times, he'll be visited by Rivensea. He can not wake up from these dreams on his own, Rivensea always has to 'eject' him.

As for the nights when the horrors aren't visiting him, Amber probably has normal cat dreams, and wakes up relatively easily.

💛(Clanwide)- Are there any queer relationships in your Clan? Describe them!

Well, Jackdawnudge has a complicated relationship. He's mates with Yellowlily, who is trying her best to pursue Plumsong, too. Jackdawnudge doesn't mind and Yellowlily was up front with him about it. He wants her to be happy and if his poly wife wants Plumsong to be her husband, she gets Plumsong as her husband (so long as Plumsong says yes).

The other part of this is that Jackdaw actually is in love with Plumsong, too, he just hasn't acknowledged or fully realized it for himself yet. Plumsong, on the other hand, is fully aware of it, and he loves both Yellowlily and Jackdawnudge, he just isn't sure how to confess his feelings. He wants them both, but in his clan that wasn't really something he saw, so he isn't sure if he can really have that. He rejected Yellowlily before because he loves both her and Jackdawnudge and felt like he had to choose, and now he doesn't want to get in the way of a relationship that is already established. Especially since he hated Jackdaw's guts early on, when Jackdaw had to take over his duties as medicine cat during a bout of greencough that struck down half the clan.

Jackdawnudge is prickly by nature, and Plumsong himself is cold, and they butted heads with each other over the position of medicine cat, especially when the clan inadvertently kept turning to Jackdawnudge more than Plumsong after the illness has run its course, due to Jackdawnudge being a senior warrior and carrying the respect over to his new role.

Yellowlily knows they're both in love with each other, even if they don't see it, and one reason she keeps pursuing Plumsong, other than she loves him, is that she wants these two grumpy cats she loves so much to realize they love each other, and they can all be together if they would just talk. Some sessions with Wiggity Wack are in the future, because they aren't getting any younger and Yellowlily wants them all to be happy.

There might be more in the future, but right now it's just Yellow/Jackdaw/Plum and they are taking their sweet time about it. 💙(Character specific)- What is this character's identity labels, if they use any at all?

Jackdawnudge just things of himself as he/him, tom. It's what he was born, what he's comfortable as, and otherwise, he doesn't particularly care.

He is also bisexual polyamorous, but it's not something he would really put a label on. His attitude toward it, for himself, is more or less, "So what?" He is what he is, and that is himself. He doesn't really need labels beyond his name and pronouns. They get the job done for him.

To his grandkits (and some of the clan), he is also Grumpa. Grumpy + grandpa. They don't dare say this to his face, but he knows and doesn't care, because, well, he's a grumpy grandpa, too. He's fine with that label because it also describes part of his identity to him.
