Anya has a one bed, one bath apartment in West Loop. She’s lived in it for a couple months, but it still doesn’t have too much personality to it, and decorations are sparse. She doesn’t like making herself feel too at home when she doesn’t know how long she’ll be sticking around yet. It’s surprisingly organized and clean, a trait she picked up from her job as a makeup artist.

Caitriona Byrne and Wonder Woman

Nurturing, Diplomatic, Strong-willed

Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince is an Amazon Princess, superhero, and ambassador who often thinks with her heart and fights for truth and justice. She and Cait share similar morals as Cait got her start in journalism over the desire to share people’s truths and in a way bring justice to the people who’s lives were getting twisted by more biased reporting.

Wonder Woman is the kind of hero that will not back down from a challenge, but will opt to choose diplomacy before violence. Cait would willingly do whatever she had to in order to protect herself and her daughter, but she is much more willing to try to solve things with words before ever resorting to violence.

Despite seeing the world for what it is, both characters are grounded in their compassion and belief in humanity. They try to see the good in people, but will accept the reality of the situation if they must. At the end of the day, both have a strong conscience that they try their best to follow even if it can tend to get them in trouble.

WALL·E and Dr Jackson Clarke Rockwell

Playful, Kind, Adventurous 

WALL·E is the well known and loved robot from the Pixar movie sharing the same name. He is a waste allocation load lifter, earth class - leaving him to essentially collect and compact rubbish on a now abandoned earth. Both WALL·E and Jackson share a need to break from the expectations put on them, while WALL·E often keeps the rubbish he is ordered to compact, Jackson cannot stop himself painting despite repeated efforts by his father to burn the desire out of him.

They both share a love for the ordinary, able to find amazement and wonder in the smallest things. While Jackson is able to stare at ducks for hours, so too is WALL·E able to find wonderment among the mundane garbage he collects. This in turn drives their need for adventure, and uncanny ability to explore the world in ways unexpected.

The two characters also possess hearts of gold, and their earnest nature is a draw to the people around them. While WALL·E is able to change the life of inhabitants of Axiom and EVE, Jackson often touches the people around them, his patient manner and honest is known to change the mind and mood of the people he meets.

At their core, both Jackson and WALL·E are honest, striving characters, whose ability to touch the people around them is unshakably intertwined with their love for the world around them.

Anya Liu and Rogue

Strong willed, Humorous, Independent

Rogue is a main character on X-Men the Animated TV series as well as as comic book character. Both she and Anya have had mothers who impose their will on them early in their lives and have tried to shape them to be what their mother desired rather than what they wanted. Both also managed to take their own lives back for themselves and break out of their mother’s control.

While both struggle with certain aspects of their past, they don’t let that stop them from living life as fully as possible. Both have great senses of humor and can often be found joking around or sassing people. Despite doing well in group settings, both don’t like to be told what to do or have people disrespect them, and if they have a problem with you, they’ll be sure to let you know.

Due to her superpowers, Rogue is unable to touch anyone and as such, she has self-esteem issues when it comes to making close connections while Anya’s stem from believing her mother’s affections and love always come with a certain cost or expectation. As a result both women have developed a naturally flirty attitude as a coping mechanism but become afraid when someone gets too close emotionally. While Rogue is a hero, she has straddled the line in the past just like Anya has straddled the line in the past with small time crime, but both has risen above it.

Spike Spiegel and Leland W. Avery

Reckless, Nonchalant, Sarcastic

Spike Spiegel is the main character of the Anime Cowboy Bebop, taking the post of a bounty hunter or as he calls himself ‘Cowboy’ aboard the Bebop ship. Like Leland, Spike was raised in a rough life, not unuse to violence and misdemeanors. Both Leland and Spike have a very dry sense of humor and very rarely express emotions such as enjoyment or excitement. 

They both also share a laid-backed and almost lazy mentally, that masks their actual competency at their jobs, both being more accomplished and skilled than they let on. They both also come off more as anti-heroes despite having heroic jobs.

Like Leland, Spike is also haunted by his past. Spike’s right eye is cybernetic and claims to see the past while his left normal eye sees the present, meaning he can never let go, just as Leland is forever haunted by the dreams and memories of losing Sarah. Both Leland and Spike’s tragic past, both involving losing people they loved dearly have led to a reckless manner that shows little regard for life and death.  While Spike tries to resolve his issues by throwing himself into danger through his work, Leland using his growing addiction to fight clubs to hide the pain.

Asami Sato and Maxine Bennett

Hardworking, Kindhearted, Mature

Both Max and Asami have been undermined or looked down upon for both their beauty, renown, and wealth. Max is an actress in a business where she is easily written off as a pretty face who makes money for standing there and looking nice while Asami is the daughter of a wealthy businessman and written off as having things easy because of her wealth and money. Despite their favorable circumstances, both Max and Asami are hard workers and never take anything they have for granted. Max has worked for decades to get where she is and trained in her craft while Asami has a keep business mind and a good understanding of mechanics (what her father’s company revolves around) so that she is rightfully able to take over the company after him.

Both try to use their standing and abilities to help others. While both do have their emotional moments and can get angry, they are highly collected and mature, making sure to think with their brain as well as their heart. Because of this, neither holds grudges and are quick to forgive within reason. Both are happy to be a pillar of support for their friends and will always make themselves available if their loved ones should need a shoulder to lean on.

Task 2: New Year Resolutions

2017 had been a rough year for Max. After nearly a decade in the spotlight, she’d started to crumble under the pressure of it all. The more time went on, the less pleasure she found in her job, and the more the parts she’d never signed up for became a source of anxiety for her until she had to bow out and take some time off. With the new year, she knew that she couldn’t hide in Chicago forever. She had to face reality and try to find a way to find joy in her work, so with the close of the year, she sat down to make herself a list of goals.

Maxine lives in an apartment with her sister overlooking Lincoln Park. She likes cozier decorations, and though she’s recently moved in with her sister, her personality has already seeped into the apartment. Because she’s always been too busy to own a pet, she’s become a proud plant mom, and thinks they give a nice homey touch to the living space. She’s technically sleeping in her sister’s guest bedroom, but that hasn’t stopped her from putting some of her own personal touches into it since when she arrived, she knew she’d be staying for a few months.
