*claps hands together* hehehe I love the consequences of self sacrifice! kh1 Sora and kh3 Sora shaking hands as they're about to save their friends at the cost of his own wellbeing!!! (i do want Sora to be eventually rescued from unreality but its about those sweet sweet consequences of your own actions)

4. Do you like how the fandom treats them?

sometimes I've seen a post about either Roxas or Vanitas being the source of rage form and I don't really agree with that. like its so much more interesting for Sora's own rage and darkness briefly consuming him than another character influencing him. And we've seen that Sora has plenty of anger he's not just the smiling happy kid all the time. (small complaint though, I generally don't mind fandom takes on Sora)

11. Favorite romantic ship?

so the obvious choice here is RokuNamiXi. they are my favorite characters, my favorite polyship, my favorite subpairs. their lives have been so awful and they've even been forced to hurt each other but they're alive now! they can actually talk things out and be friends! i'm glad that (to my knowledge) ship wars have died down bc i hate seeing arguments of rokunami vs rokushi. noooo!!!! let them kiss each other!!!!! do not separate!!!!!!!!! if polyship were more popular YOU KNOW they would be kh's #2 most popular (after sorikai of course lol)

since I talk about rokunamixi so often I also want to show love to my other fav polyships. the current one i'm obsessed with is Brain x Ephemer x Player. missing link's eventual release has gotten me into brain x player (plain 😆) and the dynamic of them as a polyship that's never actually been all three of them together. we've got best-friends-to-teenage-sweethearts ephelayer and co-union-leaders-kissing-outside-the-meeting-room braineph and i-miss-ephemer-and-you-miss-ephemer-so-lets-kiss-each-other plain. (like rokunamixi it's about the tragedy lmao.) since we don't have missing link (yet!!!) i'm creating a whole dynamic for brain and player that might not end up happening! they get together but player gets into the societies' hero-worship of the founder bc of good old unresolved daybreak town trauma. player and brain still deeply care for each other outside of their mutual love of ephemer but end up having a falling out. brain goes missing and player becomes a hermit of destiny islands. (this somehow became more about player x brain than the polyship oops.)

12. Favorite platonic ship?

Sorikai! they are good romantic but my fav for them is platonic honestly. partly bc I love aromantic sora but also because platonic is the foundation of their relationships and if romance ever happens in some way then its like. extra flavoring. its more important that their friends.

and because i talked about two romantic ships I will also share another platonic one thatI have also completely created a dynamic for: kairi and repliku! the fun part is that they would hate how the other resembles naminé/riku but actually isn't that person but then they would get to know each other as their own people. kairi helps repliku find his own personality and likes/dislikes outside of riku's and repliku would encourage kairi to stand up for herself when she's being left behind

13. If you read fics, favorite fic?

12. manga or anime?

I really love the manga. Obata did a brilliant job with the artwork and I hold the series dear to my heart. there’s also little nuances and scenes that the anime didn’t include, such as a good portion of Near and Mello’s storyline. the anime added things that weren’t included in the manga, like the famous rain scene, for example, which was fun to watch, but it changed L’s characterization. he’s more melancholic and expressive in the anime. there are many characterization changes in general, but I won’t get into it right now.

the anime OST is fantastic and I listen to it daily, but I still prefer the manga since it’s the original source.

In my capacity as sexyman-adjacent blogger, "Tumblr sexymen" is more of a loose term for any men who exist in a way that is attractive to me and IRL friends of mine; the concept itself is not particularly defined in terms of anything I've written

It's really more an attention grabbing, in the way that sexymen often are, and I am not especially qualified to address why that is so

One common thing that sexymen do is have high-frequency sound clips as their "about" section

One of the things that this usually means is that the person is very focused on high-status topics and wants to make their self-presentation correspond to that focus, but they don't have a strong sense of the kind of thing they want to talk about and just look at the most important topic they can think of right now

In this case, the people are probably trying to make their self-presentation appear edgy/intellectual/whatever

Another thing they often do is try to put up a cool image, and to focus on that image and the image's high-status associations, even if they know the image is actually pretty old and low status

As I understand it, it is often part of a broader strategy to "raise your game": you want to make it clear that you're a smart man, or someone who is at least smart in certain "niches" – i.e. "cool" things – and you want to put yourself in a positive light in people's minds as someone who is in these cool places

The Sexyman "about" section is generally the most interesting part of their page because it contains details about what makes them a Smart Man, not because it's necessarily interesting from a "how do we get more of this guy" standpoint (which is the reason the about section is not included in the statistics on Sexymen)

I've been thinking about writing a post on the Sexymen phenomenon and how it differs from the "sexyman" phenomenon as a whole, but then it seemed like people would ask me lots of stuff and I could only answer so many times before I had to stop.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the subject
