when or if I started shipping it: gosh i don’t remember exactly... probably sometime during the school festival arc. i think maybe that ferris wheel ride they took together with negi was where i first sat up like ‘oh hey wait a second’ though

my thoughts: i think it’s kind of amazing that the one student who just wants everything to be normal develops the relationship she does with the student who is basically the poster child for everything weird about their class

What makes me happy about them: how chachamaru gets drawn out of her shell and learns to confront things she doesn’t want to deal with because of chisame’s antagonizing and ‘tough love’ approach to friendship, and how chisame complains bitterly about chachamaru bringing her out of her comfort zone and fussing about her wellbeing even though you know she actually really kinda likes it. i like how they develop this weird sort of dynamic where they’re constantly bickering but it’s because they each think the other one is so much more awesome than they are and they’re mad that the other one can’t see it and/or appreciate that about themselves. also will there ever be a more passive-aggressive duo than these two? i don’t think so.

What makes me sad about them: the epilogue. i think that’s all i need to say.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: i wouldn’t mind either of them winding up with negi actually, and also i kind of have a soft spot for chisame/haruna (even though i tend to think of haruna as aro ace), just. the poor, hapless, determined to be normal chisame being dragged kicking and screaming into all kinds of shenanigans by a relentlessly chaotic neutral slytherin like haruna. that has beautiful potential.

My happily ever after for them: chachamaru comes to visit chisame a lot to make sure she’s taking care of herself and because she enjoys her company, chisame cursing up a blue streak about how fine she’s doing and how she doesn’t need chachamaru to baby her, but she secretly looks forward to her visits and they develop this sort of unspoken domestic dynamic and after awhile i guess it’s like ‘well we’re already basically married anyway so why not’

who wakes the other one up with kisses: i'm not sure that either of them would? idk, for some reason i always envision chisachacha as not a particularly affectionate couple overall. they're more about the intellectual and emotional connection than the physical stuff i think. which is not to say that they never do anything physical but wow i'm getting way off topic. (long story short i picture basically that they're not very physically affectionate aside from when they're having sex. idk why i think that but there you go.) anyway. if either of them was to do this, it would be chachamaru, and chisame would be so embarrassed and pissed off. every. time. knock it off already, you damn robot. gross. i'm awake already. go make tea or something and leave me alone.

who cooks for who: chachamaru cooks for chisame, especially after visiting her apartment one day to find that she had been subsisting on nothing but cup ramen for months. after all, it is vital to take in the necessary amount of nutrients to maintain optimal performance ability.

who is the morning person/night person: well chisame is obviously a night person. she stays up well into the night surfing the net and just generally being the living personification of tumblr. chachamaru actually requires no sleep because she is a robot, and the time she requires to shut down and recharge is relatively small, so she manages to be both a night and a morning person. she often wakes chisame up with the smell of breakfast cooking. chisame says she likes that a lot more than waking up to that kissing shit.

who is the romantic one: chachamaru. she has a whole database dedicated to romance and romantic gestures. hakase thought it would be useful to her after she started developing interest in negi.

who is the top when it comes to sex: i really haven't actually thought through the logistics of how their sex would even work so i'm not entirely sure? like i mean okay the only erogenous zone we know of for sure on chachamaru's entire body is on the back of her head, so i guess chisame could quite literally top depending on the situation? but yeah actually probably chisame anyway come to think of it.

who would lead in ballroom dancing: i was going to say probably chachamaru just because she has the advantage of being able to be programmed to know how to do anything and would chisame go out of her way to learn ballroom dancing anyway? but then i thought of this: chachamaru has been programmed to know how to ballroom dance, but because she was programmed to do so with negi in mind (u really gotta stop that hakase) she doesn't know how to lead, which doesn't really become an issue until she and chisame are at some ambassadorial function with negi and circumstances are such that they have to dance with each other and that's when they realize. neither of them knows how to lead.

who is the more cuddly one: well despite all of my talk above about how i don't picture them as being particularly affectionate with each other... i actually think chisame has a real need for affection that she naturally doesn't get on account of being a solitary shut-in all the time. so when chachamaru comes over chisame will like cuddle/spoon with her whenever an appropriate opportunity arises, all while cursing up a blue streak about how it doesn't mean anything, okay? she's just cold and chachamaru's heat output system is nice and efficient. if you tell anyone about this i swear i'll have hakase install your brain into a cow.

who is the one to most likely pick the movie they watch: chisame, mostly because chachamaru doesn't care at all and only uses the movie watching as an excuse to spend time with her.

who is the one who would pay for dates: if by "dates" you mean "chachamaru comes over to chisame's apartment a few times a week and makes sure she's eating and that her house is clean and they spend the day doing completely mundane things" then uh. i guess chachamaru buys groceries to cook dinner with? at least at first, but then it starts annoying chisame that chachamaru would assume that chisame didn't have any food for her to cook with. suddenly chachamaru notices that groceries have started appearing in chisame's refrigerator without her putting them there. she's not sure where they come from. chisame won't tell her. but she doesn't mind, because at least that means that there's a better chance chisame will eat better when she's not there.

who is the one who would initiate a quicky during classes: i'm... not sure? they'd probably both be pretty good at controlling themselves. there's an outside chance that chachamaru may need a good key winding and ask chisame to do it for her, i suppose, and in very rare circumstances i could imagine chisame deciding to just give up and go for it, if she was angry/worked up enough to not care if they got caught.

i hope this's good enough! i actually don't always feel like i have a particularly good handle on their relationship dynamic, which is kinda funny considering a lot of people tell me my fic is the one that got them into this ship in the first place. but tbh my ability to write them just kind of comes in flashes, so i'm always paranoid about it.

(also sorry, it's already almost 2am here so i think the other three are going to have to wait 'til the morning. but there's some stuff in there that i usually don't get so i'm kind of excited about getting to them!)

Since I already answered the first part, I guess I’ll just have to come up with a good ChisaChacha AU for you. Hm.

This is just off the top of my head, but: Chisame is an art student whose life is suffering. Through a long and convoluted series of events, she winds up getting locked in an art museum overnight. Cursing her bad luck, she’s wandering around looking for a way out or a security guard or something so that she can get out of this situation, when she notices that something seems off about the room she’s in—one of the statues that was on display earlier is gone.

So she’s sitting there trying to figure out what could have happened and working out the logistics of how somebody would go about stealing a statue from a museum, let alone why they’d even want to in the first place, when she spots a figure walking around in the next room. At first she thinks it’s a security guard, but then she realizes that it’s the missing statue, and it’s actually walking around looking lost. Chisame is sure she’s dreaming at this point, but it turns out that, no, this statue has actually magically come to life and it seems lost and confused and unsure of what’s going on or how it got here, but it is pretty sure that its name is Chachamaru.

At this point, Chisame is too far gone down the rabbit hole of “oh my god what the fuck" to put up much of an argument about how ridiculous everything has suddenly become, but really the WTF is just starting because dammit, this is weird and fucked up and beyond all logical sense, but for some reason she just feels sorry for the statue and so she decides against her better judgement to help her out.

But in the end, who really winds up helping out whom?

So yeah, that’s just kind of something off the top of my head. I’m not used to AU’ing for ChisaChacha, so I hope it’s something that sounds like it’d work!
