Thieving Progress under the cut

Kinda inspired by the times where I would just sneak onto a Hinox and steal the gear/items around their necks because I couldn’t be bothered fighting them (or was too afraid earlier in my play through)

Friend on the husk of an enemy progress under the cut

inspired by a location from the game. I thought the scene of a korok flower on top of a rusted guardian was pretty neat and it has stuck with me.

quick animation using one of the shots from an old storyboard i drew months ago

progress under the cut! 

these were the original boards for the shot. the storyboards/project this was a part of was pretty long for me, and when i timed it, it was around 5 minutes long. even though the original project was just gonna be an animatic (ofc with cleaned up characters and bgs etc), i found it difficult to motivate myself to work on it around quarter way through, especially with a bunch of other stuff going on so i abandoned it.

to keep things short, around a month ago i wanted to work on a short animation so i looked to this old project and picked out this shot which had fun character movement and well, started

rough animation! it was fun drawing the key poses, although i think the overall animation moves a lil bit too fast - even if he is panicked and talking quickly - but unfortunately it was something i didnt notice until towards the end... uhh

aand the background, greyed out area is the bleed space (is that the right term? idk) i was a bit worried about the perspective and feeling of depth since the space on the left is supposed to be pretty large/open. i used 3d reference to help, but i guess from this angle its just something thats just like, oh this space seems to be pretty big,, idk

little animation to get me back in the groove of things since i havent animated in a couple months

progress under the cut!

Originally this animation was going to be part of a set of three, with this one being the last. However, I decided to just animate this one since I spent a lot of time fussing over the first part and wasn’t sure how to get it to work, the second part had very minimal movement and I didn’t feel the motivation to animate it, and in the end I just wanted to animate something, and I quite like the mood of part 3. I also used clip studios 3d assets to help me with the background and perspective, since its something i still have trouble with and want to get it done to the best of my abilities

(first shot was cut shorter in this gif since its still) I didn’t want to spend too long on rough animation since the movement is basic and something I could inbetween when doing the final lines (though I mainly ended up doing that for the cushioning frames at the end)
