Neighbours Ep. 8573 (2021)
for @willunderwood17
I truly believe that a year and a half ago when I started to watch Neighbours again there was a reason. I initially started watching again because I heard they were introducing a transgender character and wanted to see what they did with her storyline. Fast forward to me falling in love with basically all of the characters. Anyway, back in the day, it was this show and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy that gave me my first introductions to the LGBTQ+ community, the first being Sky and Lana (and we got to see them get married last year! Like what are the odds I pick up the show again and get to see that when those characters haven’t been on Neighbours SINCE leaving all those years ago? sign #1) Fast forward to last July when they introduce Nicolette and she’s a confirmed lesbian who immediately falls for Chloe despite Chloe being married to Pierce and then watch their storyline play out for 8 whole months for this last weeks pay off IS THE KIND OF CONTENT I SIGNED UP FOR WHEN WATCHING THIS SHOW AGAIN. What I love about Neighbours and always have is that for their time slot of 6:30pm weekdays they have ALWAYS pushed the boundaries and given us amazingly progressive storylines for decades now and at the times where I’ve really needed to see them. Seeing LGBTQ+ stuff being so normalised on this show really makes me feel so much better about possibly telling my family that I’m bisexual one day soon. It makes me feel better about possibly one day having a girlfriend and I literally am so excited to watch Chloe and Nicolette’s relationship blossom even if it does end up in disaster like most soap relationships lmao. Anyway, sorry for rant I just had to get that off my chest!!! Ahhhh long live Chlic!!!!!
